Tattoodle - How to remove

Tattoodle is a browser hijacker that replaces your default search engine, home page and new tab page with tattoodle.com. It is owned by InfoSpace, Inc. that offers such applications as Fast Browser Search Toolbar, Search Guard Plus and Tattoodle Homepage. Once you install any of the products related to Tatoodle you might start experiencing redirections to tattoodle.com. Please note, even though the site might look like a legitimate search tool, it does not offer any value in comparison to popular search engines, such as Google, Yahoo! or other. The results displayed by tattoodle.com include commercial (sponsored) and non-commercial results. It means that you will be presented with the links that generate money for the company once you click on them instead of those that you would see when performing a search using noncommercial tool.

If you read tattoodle‘s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you will find it takes no responsibility for the content displayed. Subsequently you might get your computer infected with viruses and Trojans after clicking on the ad displayed if one contained malware or lead to a compromised website.

We strongly recommend removing application causing redirection to tattoodle website as soon as possible, especially if it was not installed by you intentionally. Please note, it might have come bundled with other software, usually freeware such as codecs, torrents, free video file converters, etc. If you installed anything like this recently, removing the program will not eliminate the unwanted changes as adware and browser hijackers like tattoodle usually do not have proper uninstall wizards.

Tattoodle removal instructions:

1. Scan your computer using antimalware program, such as Spyhunter. It will detect and remove tattoodle as well as any other adware/browser hijackers that might have been added together with it. If you use any other removal tool, look up beforehand if it can detect this type of threat as many do not.
2. Check if your default search engine is reset. You might need to do some manual changes:
   On Internet explorer:
   • Click arrow on the right of search box;
   • Do the following: on IE8-9 choose Manage Search providers, on ie7 click change search defaults;
   • Remove tattoodle.com from the list.

   On Firefox :

   • Enter “about:config” in url bar. This will open settings page;
   • Type “Keyword.url” in the search box. Right click it & reset it;
   • Type “browser.search.defaultengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it;
   • Type “browser.search.selectedengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it;
   • Search for ‘browser.newtab.url’. Right-click and reset. This will make sure that the search page won’t launch on each new tab.

   On Google Chrome:

   • Click 3 horizontal lines icon on browser toolbar;
   • Select Settings;
   • Select Basics ->Manage Search engines;
   • Remove unnecessary search engines from list;
   • Go back to settings. On Startup choose open blank page ( you can remove undesired pages from the set pages link too).
3. If you choose to remove tattoodle manually, uninstall unfamiliar applications from Control Panel Add and Remove Programs list, delete all unknown plugins and extensions. You might also need to do a System Restore to the date before the infection. After a manual removal is complete, scan your computer for viruses that might have been brought in while tattoodle was installed.
