Searchinfinite.com - How to remove

By Urte

Searchinfinite.com is a site that, while it doesn’t benefit its users in any way, collects data on their browsing habits. Likely, you installed it without meaning to. Remove all unwanted browser extensions and the Searchinfinite.com redirects should disappear.

About Searchinfinite.com:

Type of threat Adware,

browser hijacker.

How Searchinfinite.com infects browsers Advertised online with very aggressive ads,

opened by infected sites,

convinces visitors that it’s a security check site and leads people to believe that they must install a browser extension to complete the security check.

Problems and issues Can’t change your search engine settings while Searchinfinite.com is installed,

your browsing history and search queries are visible to Searchinfinite.com.

How to remove Searchinfinite.com Uninstall all suspicious browser extensions and other malware manually or with an anti-malware tool, such as Spyhunter for PC, Combo Cleaner for Mac, and others.

How Searchinfinite.com spreads

Pop-up ads and unexpected redirects on free movie sites, coupon, template, gift card, game mod, file download, and other sites are responsible for popularizing Searchinfinite.com.

Sites that no longer exist also promote Searchinfinite.com. These sites, links to which are still around on other websites even after the sites have been taken down, are replaced with ad space by their hosts. Some of those ads may not be very safe.

Infected sites can also redirect you to Searchinfinite.com unexpectedly. Infected sites are those that were manipulated by malicious actors and whose administrators failed to remove the malicious code. Even clicking on a Google search result to an infected site can result in a malicious website being shown.

Once Searchinfinite.com is loaded, it shows a message:

Security Check

By clicking the button below, you’ll go through a standard security check to confirm you are not a bot.

Then it continues to say that you will be redirected to the Chrome Store. The “button below” says “Continue” and does lead to the Chrome web store, the page of a browser extension.

Searchinfinite.com says: Security check.

People don’t install Searchinfinite.com because they want it. Rather, they install it because they think that they have to. Searchinfinite.com pretends to be a security check site. It’s designed in such a way that people believe that they’re required to install the extension that Searchinfinite.com promotes. It’s deceptive installation tactics.

Some might think that it’s stupid to be tricked by ads like this. But I disagree. We expect a normal security check to just go away and close itself once it’s done. But Searchinfinite.com doesn’t – it has a “Continue” button instead. It is cleverly designed to take advantage of our habits. Anyone who is tired, distracted, or inexperienced can be caught by this scam.

Effects on the browser

Once Searchinfinite.com is installed, it doesn’t change anything too drastically. The victim might notice “Searchinfinite.com” flashing in their address bar and search results being delivered by the wrong website, but that’s about it.

The victim might try to change their default search engine in the settings (main menu, Settings, Search engine), but it won’t work as long as the Searchinfinite.com extension is installed. In a way, it takes features away from the web browser.

Meanwhile, Searchinfinite.com is logging that person’s search terms and reading their browsing history to see which results and ads they clicked on. This data is valuable – it may be used to help advertisers and various online businesses.

Searchinfinite.com lets you choose between Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckGo.

Searchinfinite.com is very similar to Privacysearching.com, and it works kind of like The-search-tab.com. Just unnecessary, unhelpful browser extensions inserting themselves into people’s browsers so that they can log people’s browsing habits and manipulate which websites people use.

How to remove Searchinfinite.com

Uninstall all suspicious browser extensions – those related to Searchinfinite.com and others. Find and delete other suspicious programs. Look at recently installed programs and scan your computer with an antivirus program, such as Spyhunter for Windows, Combo Cleaner for macOS, etc.

Whenever a website demands that you install a program or a browser extension to use it, pause and think very hard about it. Check the reviews of the program or extension. Maybe look for an alternative site. Websites that are about consuming content, such as watching videos, usually do not need extensions or programs to function, so consider that someone might be trying to take advantage of you.

If something strange happens to your web browser, review the extensions that are installed. Very often, problems with web browsers are caused by malicious browser extensions.
