Game over for a hacker Chase Arthur Hughes September 28, 2016 By Giedrius Majauskas Staff of Kennesaw State University, in Georgia, dealt with a 19-year-old college student who decided that B was not a satisfying grade for him. This week the mentioned gentleman was arrested with clear evidence found in his house. Chase Arthur Hughes, the unpleased student, made it its mission to be a hero for his friends and changed not only his marks, but of three or four of his friends’ as well. The shenanigan unraveled when one of the professors got a notification that he/she had successfully altered one of the student’s grade. After realizing that he/she did not recall making this modification, the person contacted the proper authorities to have this situation settled. As it turned out, Chase Arthur Hughes managed to hack into university’s computer system since May and his activity lasted until September. During his undetected reign, now an ex-college student not only altered grades, but managed to get access to various information about the Kennesaw State University professors and other staff members. During a search in his home, police managed to get their hands on a notebook with information about 36 university employees. However, Chase Arthur Hughes can become a heroic figure as he saved his friends from failing as he changed some grades from “F” to “A”. Of course, now that this scam has been exposed, his friends are probably going to get back their primary received marks. The reason why Hughes gathered personal information about some of the students and at least three professors remains unclear. Another peculiar factor about this student is that he used his girlfriend’s Internet to hack into the university’s system. Ladies, from now on, check what your fellow is doing online. Maybe he too is going to be charged with multiple crimes and risk to spend 15 years in prison. Leave a ReplyYour email address will not be published.
