Allwownewz.com is advertised on sites like Thepiratebay.org (a pirating site), Sendspace.com (a file hosting site that pirates sometimes use), various adware viruses, and malicious links. That is to say, people who land on Allwownewz.com do not expect it. They might not even realize that what they’re seeing is an ad.

Allwownewz.com then asks to push Allow to “continue watching”, as if it’s required to subscribe to Allwownewz.com to access another site. It’s deliberately misleading and, unfortunately, it works.

The browsers of those who accepted Allwownewz.com’s notifications now receive messages from Allwownewz.com and display them in the corner of the screen.

Like Thenewstreams.com and Worldbestposts.com before it, Allwownewz.com has a news site-like appearance. It is filled with articles copied from LA Times. This time, though, none of the images are taken.

How to block ads from Allwownewz.com

1. Open the notifications section.
   • Chrome – type “chrome://settings/content/notifications” in the address box.
   • Safari – in the Safari menu, choose Preferences, Websites, Notifications.
   • Edge (Chromium) – type “edge://settings/content/notifications” in the address box.
   • Firefox – open Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down to Permissions, and click on Settings next to Notifications.
2. Find Allwownewz.com in the list of sites that are allowed to send you notifications.
3. Click the button next to it, choose Block from the selection.

Alternatively, you can use the Add button to manually add Allwownewz.com to your list of sites whose notifications are blocked. Both methods work.

If some pop-ups remain undismissed on your screen, they might linger, but no new ones will be sent from Allwownewz.com.
