AntispywareBot 1.4 is just one of many rogue anti-spyware programs lurking in the net today. AntispywareBot 1.4infects the system by using trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo. They do so by exploiting various browser security holes, which is why you should avoid suspicious websites. AntispywareBot 1.4 uses scare tactics to intimidate the user into buying the "licensed version" of the program.
Once inside and active, AntispywareBot 1.4 will proceed to bombard the user with annoying popups and fake system notifications supposedly to enlighten him on the presence of malware in his system. This malware is most likely non-existent, but the disinformation furthers the goal or scaring the user. Once he believes that he is infected, the user is provided with an answer to his problems – AntispywareBot 1.4.
The parasite’s homepage is nothing out of the ordinary: fake user testimonials, a useless threat list, random logos – the works. The content found on the website is completely useless and consists of self-praise and fear-mongering. There is no contact information to be found, which is usually the case with these rogue scams, and the domain is registered to "Mr. Registration Private", which is hardly something anyone would choose to trust.
AntispywareBot 1.4 is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block AntispywareBot.com using your HOSTS file.
