About Browser Hero adware
It works as browser add-on that can be added to all most common web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or even Safari. This means Apple users can get infected as well.
Once inside Browser Hero will display various advertisements on all of you web browsers. Those ads can be displayed in all kinds of forms, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text, banner or contextual advertisements.
Even though those ads displayed by Browser Hero look very appealing and relevant to your interests, we don’t recommend to click on any of them. If you do so, you will be immediately redirected to other websites that can be owned by various cyber criminals, such as hackers or scammers. This way your computer can get infected with other viruses or if you attempt to purchase something there you can even get scammed and lose your hard earned money this way.
Browser Hero can be described as advertising network for cyber criminals. Since they are banned from all legitimate advertising networks, they use adware like this to promote their websites and drive some traffic to them. This being said, if you keep Browser Hero installed on your computer, various cyber criminals can reach you right on your web browser on daily basis and that’s very dangerous.
Distribution Methods of Browser Hero adware
Browser Hero is distributed using malicious distribution method called bundling. I.e. when you download some PDF generator, media player or other free application from unreliable website, there is a chance that Browser Hero will come bundled with it. Thats why you always need to pay close attention to the installation process of freeware.
Never skip any steps and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible. This way you will be able to see all available options and make needed changes. Look for various checkboxes that can be already checked for you. If during the installation that some additional software that you are not aware of is being installed alongside, don’t allow this installation to be completed because it can possibly be Browser Hero or any other adware that you don’t want to see installed on your computer.
