CleanBrowse - How to remove

CleanBrowse

CleanBrowse is yet another annoying adware that gets installed onto users computers without their allowance. It was originally developed by Intriguing Apps. They promise that this application is very useful and powerful  and will let you browse the Internet safer and protect your computer from spam and all other trash. However, this is not quite true. CleanBrowse is listed as an adware and a PUP (potentially unwanted program) not for no reason. Once installed, it will start to display various pop-up ads on your web browser and interrupt your Internet surfing. It is a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Since CleanBrowse is an ad-supporter, it is not recommended to click on those ads, as they all come from third parties. If you decide to do so, you will be immediately redirected to third parties websites, which may be infected by cyber criminals and cause some sort of damage to your computer. Furthermore, this adware will gather your personal information, such as browsing history, IP address, or search queries. This information later on will be transferred to third parties. They use it to adjust their ads and make them more engaging to you. Even though CleanBrowse is not a dangerous virus itself, it can lead you to some more serious security problems, therefore you need to get rid of it immediately.

This adware is distributed bundled with free software that can be found on the Internet. That being said, in order to avoid CleanBrowse installed on your computer, you need to be very attentive during the installation process of freebies downloaded from websites with questionable reputation. Opt out for a custom or advanced install mode and do not skip any steps. Read all terms and conditions to make sure you are aware of what are you getting. In case your computer is already infected with this adware, we highly recommend to scan it with a trustworthy anti-malware like Spyhunter or malwarebytes. It will detect and remove threat automatically and also will save your PC from viruses in the future. If you don’t want to use any additional software, you can perform this manually, just follow our step-by-step CleanBrowse removal guide.

Using Control Panel to remove the main CleanBrowse components and installers

  1. Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
  2. Look for CleanBrowse and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related. Scanning with Anti-Malware programs like Spyhunter or Stopzilla might give a good idea of what programs you should remove from there as well.
