CMAddon - How to remove

CM Addon is an adware that can get into browsers without asking for a user’s confirmation. Usually the program can be added to Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome while users are downloading some free software from the Internet. Once inside, it displays various popup ads while users are browsing the Internet.

CMAddon popups are very annoying and they interrupt your browsing every time you visit some websites. If you click on them, you will be redirected to various commercial websites. The creators of CMAddon adware make money this way. Beware that such redirections may take you to pages that have bad reputation and where your computer can be infected with viruses. Even if the pages are not malicious, it is very bothering and time consuming to have to turn off these ads or get back to the site you actually wanted to visit after every redirection.

It is possible to avoid CMAddon and similar applications to be added to your PC. As already mentioned, the program is usually installed together with free tools, for example, music players, PDF creators, etc. Whenever you are downloading such programs, make sure you follow every installation step and if you see that they mention additional applications to be installed, make sure you remove the check boxes marked by default.

If your browser has already been affected, remove CMAddon as soon as possible. Run a full system scan using a reputable antispyware program, for example, Spyhunter, hitman or any other legitimate tool.
