Dangerous Virus (also known as Dangerous Trojan) is a fake infection that is shown by several corrupt anti-spyware programs as a real threat, in order to trick their users into buying or download their “licenced” versions. In short, it is a pre-generated pop-up that tries to intimidate you by stating you’ve been infected with Dangerous Virus (a rather odd name for a virus, isn’t it?). Once you click it, DangerousVirus will redirect you to one of the corrupt websites that distribute rogue anti-spyware parasites.
During 2016-2018, Dangerous Virus tactics have changed and they will redirect to landing pages offering real albeit poor anti-malware or antivirus programs. This is especially true for popups generated on phones.
There are several versions of Dangerous Virus popups.

The executable files, which contains the payload of the Dangerous Virus popup, can be the following: nvctrl.exe and MSMSGS.EXE. Once, these files get set on the system up, they initiate the random display of misleading pop-ups by appending corrupt registry keys. The text of the pop-ups rendered is typically the following:
Error! Your system is infected with dangerous Virus!
Such fake pop-up contains the button, which links to the downloading of some fake antivirus utility. If the user follows the link, he gets redirected to a potentially malevolent website, which can possibly be injected malicious codes, and such visit can result in the infection of a more hazardous virus than the Dangerous Virus pop-up itself is. Usually, the traffic is generated to malvertising websites, which try to make the user buy some rogue anti-malware applications, which, in fact, are malware-laden malign programs, designed by cyber criminals with the mere purpose of making dirty money.
Dangerous Virus app overloads the processor and the memory. In accordance to this, it will get quite complicated to browse, as the browsing speed will definitely be insufficient or, at least, not as fast as it used to be. This rogue program will also have an effect on the entire system by making it sluggish as concerns the starting of the computer, the loading of the other apps, etc. What is even more important is the fact that Dangerous Virus pop-up will make the system vulnerable, which means that the open doors will be left for the other malware to enter your PC, if you do not take actions to remove it as soon as you notice such pop-ups appearing, as the one presented above.

Some sites show fake advertisements claiming that your computer is infected without any ability to actually check your PC. This is popular both on mobile and in sites that rely on clickjacking. Typically, this means that you have no infection, but if you click on the ads, you can get a poor anti-virus program installed.
However, some adwares show such popups too. If you see same popups while browser is closed or while visiting unrelated websites, you might be infected with some parasite and will need a scan or remove the adware from your computer. Dangerous Virus pop-ups will keep popping up, until you remove them from your PC. Use Spyhunter or Hitman trustworthy security utilities for this purpose. In most of the cases, if the system pop-ups such kind of fake security alerts, it is a high probability that apart from the malicious pop-up alone, there is also an additional adware present on the system, which installed the pop-up in the first place. Thus, automatic removal provides you with the better chances of permanently getting rid of the infection, as the previously mentioned security scanners remove all the malware threats active on the system. In addition to this, your computer’s system will be safeguarded from the malware invasion in the future, as all of the 3 antivirus tools have a real-time feature embedded in, which detects viruses before they have gotten installed on your PC.
