DeallSter is listed as an adware and a PUP (potentially unwanted program) due to several malicious attributes. Even though it is described as a useful and powerful tool that will help you to save your time and money online when shopping, by providing you various deals, coupons and other commercial offers right to your web browser, it is not true. First of all, those ads are really annoying. They will be displayed in all kinds of forms, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text or banner ads. They appear randomly, from time to time, so this attribute is really annoying and will disturb your web browsing. Take into consideration that those ads can lead you to third parties’ websites that are not reliable, so it is not only disturbing but malicious as well. As you can see, DeallSter is completely free for users and this means the owners of the tool get sponsored by third parties for displaying their ads. It is not a secret that various cyber criminals and hackers use this advertising network to promote their products and services. That’s why you should not click on any of those ads. If you do so, you will be immediately redirected to third parties websites that may be infected and cause some sort of harm to your computer. You can even get scammed if you try to purchase something on that kind of website. A new tab or a browser window can be opened as well.
It works as a browser add-on, that can be added to all most popular web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox an Internet Explorer. It is still not available on Mac OS X, so there is no need for Apple users to worry about this. Developers of DeallSter get paid for every click you make on those ads, so they try to build as big audience as possible and make those ads look attractive, so you would want to click on them. The tool is programmed to generate web traffic and collect sales leads. For that same reason your personal information, such as browsing history, search queries, top visited websites, IP or/and email address, information about your software and hardware, or even your geographic location is collected. Later on this data is transferred to advertisers and they adjust their ads according to given information. This makes them more relevant and attractive to you based on your web browsing habits and interests. Furthermore, this information can be sold to other companies for marketing purposes. This means you will receive tons of various spam letters to your inbox and you will be much more vulnerable to cyber criminals, because it is way easier to attack you when they know a lot about you and your habits. Even though it is not officially a dangerous virus that can cause you a lot of problems, DeallSter can lead you to some more serious cyber security issues, therefore it needs to be removed as soon as possible. And it is not difficult to indicate whether your PC is infected with it or not, because all those ads delivered by DeallSter are labeled with a slogan “Ads by DeallSter” or “Brought to you by DeallSter”.
This application has no official website or any download site. It’s because it is travelling bundled with other free tools that can be downloaded from the Internet. Usually it is some PDF generator, media player or a fake Flash update. To avoid getting infected with DeallSter, you should not download software from websites that look suspicious. If you have no other option, be very attentive during the installation of freebies. Do not skip any steps and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode (this way you will be able to see all available options). Look for various check boxes that can be already selected for you that state about an installation of additional software. Some of the information can be displayed in a very tiny font that is barely visible, so don’t rush and look closely. If you see that some additional software is being installed and you are not aware of it – do not allow this installation to be completed, as it possibly can be DeallSter or any other malware.
In case it is too late and your computer is already infected, you should wait no more and take needed actions to get rid of it. You can do it either way – manually or automatically. We recommend doing this automatically (unless you are an advanced computer user) because it is a more efficient and reliable way. Download a trustworthy anti-malware, such as Malwarebytes, Spyhunter or StopZilla and scan your PC with it. It will automatically detect and remove the threat. It will also protect your computer from similar infections in the future. If for some reasons you don’t want to download and install any anti-malware software, you can remove adware automatically.
