Deals App is an adware program designed by infamous Innovative Apps, that has previously released SavingsShip, Savings Season, Gigantic Savings and many other annoying adware. The program is supposed to enhance your browsing experience. It also claims to save your time and money by comparing prices and finding the best deals at online stores. It may sound like a nice feature, especially if you like shopping online but the truth is, Deals App is very annoying and it only interrupts your browsing activity. The program is compatible with three main browsers that are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. This means it can affect a wide range of users, as these are the most popular browsers.
If your computer was infected, at first, you will notice numerous ads displayed when you browse the Internet. Deals App Ads contain various coupons and other attractive offers to purchase certain things cheaper. Here is what the program claims to display:
The Plugin currently displays several basic types of advertising, including but not limited to:
- sponsored links
- traditional display advertisements, such as banner ads, “pop-unders” and interstitial ads (i.e., ads that pop up when a -webpage is loaded or are displayed between the contents of a web page)
- coupons
- video targeted ads (which are displayed when you download a video).
Some of the ads can show up after you hover your mouse over some highlighted words at random websites. These in-text ads are also a consequence of Deals App adware, and the owners of the websites have nothing to do with them. If you click on Deals App Ads, you will be immediately redirected to one of the sponsored websites that the adware is trying to advertise. Its owners actually get paid for promoting affiliate links. Although affiliate marketing is legal, you should bear in mind that Deals App may redirect you to unsafe websites and you may get your computer infected when visiting them. This is one of the reasons why you should get rid of this adware.
What is more, Deals App is known to track users’ browsing history. Pay attention that most of Deals App Ads are somewhat related to your recent searches. This can be explained quite easily. The adware gathers personal information and uses it to generate personalized ads, which you will be more likely to click on. This way Deals App makers will get more money. Keep in mind that tracking your browsing habits can also mean that the program will get access to your personal information, like your emails, passwords, etc. Later this can be used to compromise your privacy and security.
As you understand, Deals App Ads can be quite harmful and it’s recommended to remove the adware that is generating them as soon as you notice that your computer was infected. Although the adware claims that in order to uninstall it, you only have to remove the application from your programs list that you can find in Control Panel, some users have complained that after they rebooted their systems, Deals App Ads returned. This is the reason why it is recommended to run a full system scan with a reputable antispyware program, such as Spyhunter or Stopzilla. These program will detect and eliminate Deals App automatically. To avoid similar infections, make sure you are more careful with your downloads from the Internet. Always choose a Custom or Advanced installation when you are installing new programs and follow their installation steps very attentively. Make sure you deselect any options that offer additional downloads, if you are not familiar with them. Deals App comes bundles to various players, PDF creators, download managers, etc. It can also be installed if you click on a malicious popup or bogus update message that tend to be displayed while surfing online too. If you are a more advanced computer user, you can try removing Deals App manually. Follow the instructions provided below to learn how to do it.
