Delve is an adware which displays tons of unwanted pop-up ads on your web browser. It is a browser add-on and operates perfectly on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Once installed, this adware will show a lot of deals and offers on your web browser when visiting various e-commerce websites. These ads are very annoying and even harmful. If you click on one of those you will definitely will be redirected to third party website which may possibly be infected. And by doing this you will earn some money for Delve designers as they generate a traffic to their partners websites and collect sales leads. This is why Delve is listed as a PUP (potentially unwanted program).
Most of the time this adware comes bundled with other free software that can be downloaded from the Internet for free. If you are going do download something from a suspicious looking website it would be the best to avoid it. However, if you are keen on this idea be really careful during the installation. Opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible and check all additional software that will be installed as it can be an adware. It would be good if you read all terms and conditions too.
In case if your PC is already infected with Delve and you are tired of all those ads, there are two possible ways to delete this adware. First of all, you can use some anti-spyware like Spyhunter or malwarebytes to remove it automatically. Download one of these programs, scan your PC and it will automatically remove unwanted program. You can also do it manually. In this case, use our removal guide below.
Using Control Panel to remove the main Delve components and installers
- Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
- Look for Delve and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related. Scanning with Anti-Malware programs like Spyhunter or Stopzilla might give a good idea of what programs you should remove from there as well.
- Close Control Panel.
Removing Delve from Internet Explorer
- Press Wench icon->Manage Add-ons.
- Go through Toolbars and extensions. Remove everything related to Delve and items you do not know that are made not by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Oracle or Adobe.
- Close the Options.
Removing Delve from Firefox
- Enter about:addons in URL field.
- Go through Extensions and Addons list, remove everything Delve related and items you do not recognise. If you do not know the extension and it is not made by Mozilla, Google, Microsoft, Oracle or Adobe probably you do not need it.
- Optionally, reset Firefox: go to Firefox ->Help (Help in menu for OSX users) -> Troubleshooting Information. Then Reset Firefox.
Removing Delve from Chrome
- Enter chrome://extensions in url field.
- Go through extensions list and remove programs you do not need, especially similar to Delve. If unsure, you can disable them temporarily.
- Restart Chrome.
- Optionally, you can enter chrome://settings in URL bar , press Advanced settings, scroll to the bottom of the list and press Reset browser settings.
NOTE:
- If you found an extension that can’t be removed from the browser, it has either to be removed from Control Panel or with antimalware programs (like Spyhunter, malwarebytes) or program uninstallers (like RevoUninstaller).
