DeployPlatform is a malicious adware app that appears unexpectedly and changes network settings and browser settings. It blocks some websites from loading while it forces others to open. It can inject ads into web pages and it might log user data, such as their search histories.
Deleting DeployPlatform might not be very easy: this app hides files in Library folders and changes settings, so even if you seemingly remove it, it might return soon after. To really delete DeployPlatform, you need to check all the settings and locations where it hides and clean them all at once (instructions can be found below).

How does DeployPlatform work?
The symptoms of a DeployPlatform infection
DeployPlatform is a Mac application. It might also be installed as a browser extension.
DeployPlatform is very similar to OriginalUnitValue, ExploreSync, ProManagerRecord, and other apps – other adware infections. When anti-malware scanners detect DeployPlatform as Adware, AdLoad, Cimpli, or even as a Trojan.
There are no useful features that DeployPlatform offers. Users might not realize that they have this app installed at all. But they will notice the effects that DeployPlatform has on web browsing:
- There are internet connectivity problems, such as some websites not loading. Some online apps, like email clients, might also experience problems.
- Web browsers redirect to unexpected websites, such as search results on Yahoo, Bing, Safe Finder, etc.
- Ads, sponsored websites might show up more often than usual.
Not all the effects of a DeployPlatform infection are so visible. The adware can also log user data, such as browsing history and search terms.
How adware infects Macs
Malicious ads on the internet tend to be responsible for adware infections. Fake Flash Player updates, macOS update prompts, virus alerts, and other deceptive ads download installers that are full of adware and other malicious software.
The victim then installs the malware themselves, thinking it to be important and good software. Even after the victim is finished installing, they might not recognize the problem.
It is important to recognize malicious ads and to avoid websites that show deceptive ads. You can use ad blockers to remove some dangerous ads, as well as avoid websites that regularly show aggressive and dangerous advertisements.
Apple advises users to configure their settings to only open trusted apps to stop malware before it can cause any problems.
How to delete DeployPlatform
MacOS might show warnings about DeployPlatform wanting permissions or being dangerous. It might warn you that DeployPlatform will damage your computer or that it wants access to control Safari. You can use these alerts to delete the files related to DeployPlatform, but it might fail to work.
Find and delete all the files related to DeployPlatform.
However, deleting malicious files and apps is not enough. To remove all the traces of this malware, it is also needed to check your System Preferences and browser settings and get rid of all the traces that DeployPlatform might have left behind:
- unwanted proxies,
- unfamiliar sites in browser settings for new tab and search engine,
- startup items.
The instructions for how to find and delete these items can be found below.
It’s very possible that DeployPlatform wasn’t the only malicious app to infect your Mac. It’s important to check if there’s other malware and, if there is, to delete it.
You can use anti-malware apps, such as Spyhunter for Mac, Combo Cleaner, and others, to check your Mac for malware.
