About EarnSale adware
Developers of EarnSale present it as a useful application that will enhance users’ web browsing experience and help them to save both their time and money when shopping online by providing them with various links, coupons and deals. However, this description has nothing to do with reality. All those deals and coupons displayed by EarnSale come in an annoying form of web advertisements, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text, contextual or banner advertisements. Usually they appear on e-commerce websites, such as eBay or Amazon and offer you to purchase some particular goods or services at an appealing price rate.
Even though those offers displayed by EarnSale look really good, you should not click on any of those advertisements. Usually commercial offers are fake – this is just a wise trick to win your attention and make you click on one of those advertisements. And if you do so, you will be immediately redirected to other websites that may be owned by cyber criminals, such as hackers or scammers. This way your computer can get infected with other viruses or in case you attempt to purchase something there you can even get scammed and lose your hard earned money.
The adware works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and even Safari. This means Apple users can be affected as well. EarnSale can be described as an advertising network for cyber criminals. Since they are banned from legitimate advertising networks, they use adware like this to promote their websites and infect new victims. This being said, if you keep EarnSale installed on your computer, hackers and scammers can reach you right on your web browser on a daily basis. And that’s really dangerous.
This is not even all unwanted attributes of EarnSale. Once installed it will also collect your personal information, such as browsing history, search queries, most visited sites or even your IP and email addresses. This information is used for marketing purposes. I.e. the third parties adjust advertisements according to the collected data and make them even more appealing and relevant to you, so chances that you will click on one of those ads rise this way. And that’s the main goal of EarnSale because its creators get paid for every click you make. The tool generates web traffic and collects sales leads.
Distribution Methods of EarnSale
EarnSale uses the same distribution method as most other adware – it’s called bundling. For instance, when you download and install some free application from an unreliable website, there is a chance that EarnSale will be downloaded and installed alongside without even warning you about that. To avoid this happening, pay a close attention to the installation process of freebies.
Never skip any steps (don’t just click ‘next’ and ‘agree’ buttons all the time without reading all information first) and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible. This way you will be able to see all available options and make changes. Reading all terms and conditions would be considered wise as well. Look for various check boxes that can be already marked for you. In case you notice that some additional software that you are not aware of is being installed alongside – don’t allow this installation to be completed because it can possibly be EarnSale or any other malicious application that you don’t want to see installed on your computer.
