Easygamingapptab.com is not a good gaming app. Rather, it’s a deceptive browser hijacker that mainly exists to advertise to its users. You probably installed Easygamingapptab.com unintentionally and it likely came with one or two other browser hijackers. So, why remove Easygamingapptab.com? On the Chrome Web Store (where it has over 60,000 installs!), Easy Gaming App is described as providing access to PC games retailers and gaming platforms.

Easygamingapptab.com has menus with lists of links to various games. Some of the games are free, some are paid; some need to be installed, some can be played in the browser. Many are put into unfit categories – for example, Agar.io and Apex Legends are in the Action/Adventure category, the Sims is apparently Strategy, and Yahtzee and Sudoku are now Card games.

There’s a simple reason for this mess: whoever made Easygamingapptab.com did not care about the subject or the quality of the product. They just quickly threw together a few links into a preexisting template for a browser hijacker. We’ve definitely seen that before.

Easygamingapptab.com is made by Eightpoint Technologies. Other browser extensions by the same company are Terra Arcade, Game Finder Pro, Speed Test Here, TV Streaming Online, and a whole lot more. New extensions are released all the time, always with the absolute minimum functionality to justify their existence.

If you actually want to find games, remember that each developer usually has their own website where they provide all the information and direct links to their distribution platforms. No need to install any strange browser extensions or go through third-party websites.

Adware

Easygamingapptab.com tucks the links related to video games in a toolbar up at the top, but there are some far more prominently featured links on this site – adware links.

Right under the search box in the middle of the page (which opens Yahoo.com), Easygamingapptab.com sometimes displays an advertisement banner. Below that, there are a few links to sites that (with the exception of Amazon), are full of clickbait.

Myemailcentral.com, Easygamingapptab.com, Totalvideos.tv, Mynewswire.co are all sites owned by Eightpoint, just like Easygamingapptab.com. Most of their content is made up of low-quality ads by Revcontent and Adblade, many of which promote shady diet and brain pills, get-rich-quick scams, and sites that repost Youtube videos.

The aforementioned sites also offer to allow their notifications, which they use to spam your browser with ads. As does Easygamingapptab.com. That’s why I posted instructions for blocking notifications above – sometimes people don’t realize why or how malicious websites are getting access to their browser. Notifications are to blame.

Dishonestly installed

Easygamingapptab.com’s owners must be making good money from all of those ads because they keep churning out new browser extensions. Be careful of them, and be especially suspicious of any extension that has tens of thousands of users and no reviews. By now, that’s a signature of browser hijackers.

It happens because people don’t install Easygamingapptab.com intentionally. Easygamingapptab.com may come bundled with some freeware. Or it can show up in a pop-up online, on Games.playgamesnow.org, which is basically a big “Continue” button just waiting to confuse some people into clicking on it by accident, the same way as fake Download buttons try to trick us. Already, Games.playgamesnow.org is marked by some antivirus scanners as malicious.
