EasyWebPagePrint is a browser add-on that replaces the new tab page of your browser and promotes the Myway search engine. It’s not dangerous, but it changes browser settings in a way that might be unhelpful (replaces the new tab, restricts customization, logs your search history). It’s recommended to remove EasyWebPagePrint and other potentially unwanted extensions.

Problems with EasyWebPagePrint
It replaces the new tab page
EasyWebPagePrint is a browser add-on. When installed, it should add features or change your browser in a helpful way.
EasyWebPagePrint is advertised on Easywebpageprint.com as a tool to help you save web pages as print-friendly PDFs (and update your new tab page with Myway, in smaller font).
So, when EasyWebPagePrint is installed, it does replace your new tab/home page with one of its own. This new tab page has a search box in the middle that opens Myway.com (a site that belongs to the same company that made EasyWebPagePrint), a window that turns a URL into a PDF (that must be the main functionality of the extension), plus a bunch of random utilities: links to Gmail, Booking.com, Vikings War of Clans, other sites, a todo list, an internet speed tracker, a weather widget…
Unlike default new tabs offered by web browsers, EasyWebPagePrint can’t be customized. No way to add your own links or remove those that you don’t like. What it offers is what you get.
It tracks user data
EasyWebPagePrint logs the search and browsing history of its users. Myway/Ask Applications might use this data to enhance targeted advertising. Advertising does seem to be the goal of EasyWebPagePrint and of other browser hijackers.
Commercial browser add-ons need to make money somehow. By donations, advertising, selling user data (though they’re no longer allowed to do that). Myway makes money from ads (just like most search engines do) and EasyWebPagePrint brings more users to Myway.
How to avoid browser hijackers
EasyWebPagePrint is promoted as a tool to help turn web pages into printable PDFs, but it’s strange to me why this is useful. Web browsers already have features that allow us to print web pages or export them as PDFs.
- To print a page in Safari:
- go to the site you want to print
- click the File option in the menu bar
- click Export as PDF to create a PDF or Print to print.
- To print a page in Chrome:
- right-click on the page that you want to print/export
- select Print
- in Destination, choose Save as PDF to create a PDF or add a printer to print.
- To print a page in Firefox:
- go to the page you want to print
- open the main menu and select Print
- in Destination, choose Save to PDF to create a PDF or add a printer to print.
The feature that EasyWebPagePrint offers is to paste an address and receive a PDF. That’s just unnecessary when web browsers offer the same feature already, no new tab hijacking required.
Other Myway extensions, like SMSfromBrowser or ConvertDocsOnline, offer similarly limited features. They often just link to a third-party website that offers the utility. It’s better to just bookmark the website yourself.
How to remove EasyWebPagePrint
The instructions to uninstall EasyWebPagePrint and other extensions can be found below. Removing an add-on is as simple as right-clicking its icon and selecting Remove in the drop-down menu.
Look at your other browser extensions. It’s not uncommon for new tab replacers to get installed with other potentially unwanted add-ons, especially those that replace your default search engine.
Also, look at the apps on your computer. Check for malware with antivirus tools like Combo Cleaner for macOS, Spyhunter for Windows, and others. If malicious or potentially unwanted programs are found, remove them.
Check your notification settings and block unwanted sites from sending you messages. Some browser add-ons use notifications to deliver advertisements and this might continue even after the extension is removed.
