Finding Discount is yet another malicious application that you should not keep installed on your computer. It is listed as an adware due to several malicious actions that it performs. First of all, it will display various advertisements on your web browsers. Those advertisements are not only annoying, but malicious as well. It can lead you to some unwanted consequences. Secondly, it will collect various information about your personal web browsing habits and transfer it to third parties. Even though Finding Discount gets installed on users’ computers without them even being aware of that, you can notice it pretty easily once it’s already inside. Most of those ads displayed by this malware are labeled with a phrase “Ads by Finding Discount” or “Brought to you by Finding Discount”. If you have noticed this on any of your web browsers, your PC is definitely infected and you need to take actions to solve this problem.
You should know that you can choose from two ways how to remove this malicious infection. In case you have no previous experience in removing computer viruses, you should get rid of Finding Discount automatically. Simply download and install a trustworthy anti-malware application, such as Spyhunter, StopZilla or Malwarebytes. Scan your computer with one of these tools and it will automatically detect and remove the threat. It will also protect your computer from similar infections in the future, so it’s worth to have such an application installed on your PC. You can use other anti-malware programs of your choice as well. However, if for some reasons you don’t want to download any additional security software, you can get rid of Finding Discount manually as well. If you don’t know where to start, just scroll down below the article – there you will find our step-by-step Finding Discount manual removal guide. Follow all steps carefully and you will be able to eliminate this infection completely.
In case you have some questions regarding the removal process or infection itself, don’t hesitate to ask them in the comments section below and we will try to answer them. If you would like to learn more about specific features of Finding Discount, continue reading this article.
About Finding Discount
It works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and even Safari. Even though it’s described as a tool that should help you to save both your time and money when shopping online by providing you with various coupons, deals and commercial offers, this description has nothing to do with reality. All those deals and coupons are displayed in an annoying manner of web advertisements. Those advertisements can be displayed in various forms, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text, banner or contextual ads. A new tab or window can be opened on your web browser as well. Those offers look really appealing but don’t fall for that – it’s just a wise trick to win your attention and make you click on one of them. Usually those offers are fake and can lead you to some unwanted consequences.
We don’t recommend clicking on advertisements displayed by Finding Discount because if you do so, you will be immediately redirected to other websites that may be owned by cyber criminals. This way your computer can get infected or if you attempt to purchase something on that website you can get scammed and lose your hard earned money.
Finding Discount can be described as an advertising network for cyber criminals. Since they are banned from all legitimate advertising networks, they use adware like this to promote their products and direct some traffic to their websites. This being said, if you have this adware installed on your computer, cyber criminals can reach you right on your web browser on a daily basis and that’s really dangerous.
Another unwanted attribute of Finding Discount is data collection. Once installed, it will collect various information about your browsing habits, such as your browsing history, search queries, most visited sites, or even your IP and email addresses. The third parties adjust those advertisements according to the collected data and make them even more relevant and attractive to users this way, so chances that they will click on those ads rise. And that’s the main goal of Finding Discount because its owners get paid for every click users make. They create web traffic and collect sales leads.
Distribution Methods of Finding Discount
You can get infected with this malicious application simply by downloading and installing free software from unreliable websites. For instance, when you download and install some PDF generator or media player from a website with a questionable reputation, there is a chance that Finding Discount will be installed alongside without you even being aware of that. In order to avoid this happening, try to use only well-known and reliable websites. However, if you have no other option, be really attentive during the installation.
Don’t skip any steps (do not just click ‘next’ and ‘agree’ buttons all the time before reading all information first) and always opt out for a custom or advanced install mode – this will allow you to see all available options and make needed changes. Look for various check boxes that can be already checked for you. Don’t rush, because some of the most important information can be displayed in a very tiny font. Reading all terms and conditions would be considered wise as well. If you notice that some additional software that you are not aware of is being installed alongside – do not allow this installation to be completed, because it can possibly be Finding Discount or any other adware.

when trying to uninstall finding discount, clicking on “uninstall” opens a browser window and takes me to a page that makes me type in the caption to “uninstall” but it starts and auto download .exe file and doesn’t uninstall it.
Try to scan your computer with SpyHunter or other decent anti-malware application, this should solve the problem.
I have the same problem when trying to uninstall finding discount in control panel it comes up with a popup in a browser that wants you to download an Uninstaller. Super anti spyware did not remove this after scanning everything.
Does anyone have a solution for this? I’m having the same problem – uninstall takes you to their website and does not uninstall anything.
Try to download SpyHunter, it should eliminate this infection automatically
Just run the uninstall, the program that auto downloads. It will tell you to type in a something and then you have to close your web browsers. Boom gone.
I used revo uninstall, and did it while my computer was not connected to the internet (in safe mode) to be safe. it seemed to work.
Finding Discount is so annoying. Same problem here; even after going through the process to remove the adware, the name still exists in my Control Panel and won’t let me uninstall unless I download from that sketchy site I’m redirected to. Just out of curiosity, is there a chance that the file in my Control Panel is still quietly damaging my laptop?
Later note: I downloaded SpyHunter and it showed me all the possible threats on my laptop, including that Finding Discount file (the display name, uninstall string which, and the file itself). For anyone who can’t afford SpyHunter (like me), you can always scan for free and right-click Finding Discount under the threats, where you can be redirected to the registry files and manually delete them. POOF! They’re gone forever! Just remember to be careful if you’re going to delete other threats in this manner, as deleting the wrong registry files can damage and even break your computer. (Deleting your cookies is fine of course.)
I hope I helped anyone out there browsing the internet for answers
There is a chance that an active installed program might reinstall some components. We recommend scanning with anti-malware programs or using revouninstaller to remove all remaining parts
Uninstall does not work. This Virus, whatever, has evolved. Going to Control Panel>Uninstall Program and clicking Finding Discount, then unistall just opens a tab on your Browser or opens the Browser to some page asking “Are you sure you want to uninstall?” and prompting you you to enter a code in Captcha then clicking uninstall which also does nothing. System Restore only works if it bothered to set any Restore Points. Old System restore did that automatically. The new version seems not do that. Meanwhile this SpyHunter seems stuck…Seems to be identifying anything unusual as a “threat.”
I used revo uninstaller, and it removed a bunch of FindingDiscount related files, and it is gone from the control panel, but the service that came with it is still there and running and can’t be stopped. Anyone know how to remove/stop the service?
Have you removed it from add-ons list on your web browser that you are using?
I tried that SpyHunter thing but as soon as it was done scanning it asked for a credit card to be able to continue to remove everything it needed to.
I still have that stupid Finding Discount and even tried numerous times to remove it from the control panel and nothing happened.
I keep getting internet explorer now popping up every so often and I used Google Chrome.
If you don’t want to purchase premium version of SpyHunter, try to remove this malware from add-ons section on your web browser. This should solve the problem at least temporary
Same as above, i have webroot, malware bytes, super antispyware. none of them can find it. ive done the safe mode way, the regedit way, and still shows up as on my system. and the link just downloads it again when you try to uninstall it. about to go back to factory settings and hope for the best. any other ideas? downloading Revo now.
Try to scan you computer with SpyHunter
it still wont uninstall, that new download keeps it from uninstalling. used a spyware malebtes took it out but then still reappears.
Try to use SpyHunter instead
use regedit to remove any registry entries with Finding Discount in them.
