FTDownloader is described as a toll that can be downloaded from the Internet for free and will help you to save your time by speeding up downloads by up to 5 times. This adware(you will find out about this later on) can be found on its official website called ftdownloader.com. It is also possible to download it from other websites, like software.informer.com. As you have noticed, I called FTDownloader an adware. That’s because it is a powerful adware distribution program. As FTDownloader is not so dangerous itself, this program can give you a lot of troubles by providing you with tons of malicious software. Once you install FTDownloader onto your PC, some additional software will be installed alongside. Keep in mind, that this adware affects and slows down web browsers, including Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. For those obvious reasons your should remove FTDownloader from your computer immediately.
In addition to that, FTDownloader may also change your home page to delta-search.com. If you have never used this search engine before, I must tell that this is an awful one. It will show you irrelevant search results and spam you with various ads. If that is not enough, it will be complicated to remove it as your home page. If your computer is infected with the FTDownloader you will probably need some powerful anti-malware like Spyhunter or malwarebytes. It is because FTDownloader may install a lot of adware programs to your PC and it can be tough to find them and remove manually. Scan your computer with anti-malware program and it will remove all PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) automatically. If you think your computers is infected ONLY with the FTDownloader and no additional adware hasn’t been installed, you can remove it manually. Just follow our tutorial below.
Using Control Panel to remove the main FTDownloader components and installers
- Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
- Look for FTDownloader and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related. Scanning with Anti-Malware programs like Spyhunter or Stopzilla might give a good idea of what programs you should remove from there as well.
