Gamers Corner is presented by its creators as a cool browser add-on to help connect with PC game stores and platforms. But it’s quite a disappointment. Its gaming features are nearly nonexistent. Gamers Corner replaces your browser’s default page with Hgamerscorner.com, which just serves as a Yahoo redirect. Thanks to Gamers Corner, you can’t control some of your browser settings while Hgamerscorner.com is logging your searches and showing you unwanted advertisements.

What makes Gamers Corner a browser hijacker
Gamers Corner is a browser add-on (also called browser extensions) that gets to control some of your browser settings:
- it can read and change your data on Hgamerscorner.com,
- it changes the new tab page in your browser to Hgamerscorner.com,
- it reads your browsing history.
If you opened your browser only to see Hgamerscorner.com on your screen, then Gamers Corner must have been installed
Gamers Corner is made by Eightpoint Technologies, a company that has made dozens and dozens of clone browser add-ons. Game Finder Pro, History Hide, Your Emails Now, and many others. All these add-ons promise some mildly useful feature, like helping you play browser games, improving your online privacy, or helping you log in to your email faster. And all that they actually do is replace your new tab page in your browser.
When Gamers Corner does this, it makes Hgamerscorner.com into the default website that your web browser opens. There’s a search box in the middle of this website that, if you use it to search the internet, opens Yahoo.com. It also captures your search terms.
And the worst part is that, with Gamers Corner installed, you can’t even modify what your new tab page looks like. You could do it, but Gamers Corner takes away that ability by hijacking your browser.
How Hgamerscorner.com spreads
Some people might find Gamers Corner on the Chrome Web Store and be intrigued. After all, Gamers Corner is presented as helping users reach PC games. But it just does not do that.
Once Gamers Corner is installed and Hgamerscorner opens in your browser all the time, you can see that it links to a couple of browser game sites. Browser games are hardly the pinnacle of PC gaming, not to mention, the selection here is so limited. Hgamerscorner.com also opens Minecraft.net (a site for one of the most popular games in the world) and Roblox.com (a site extremely popular with children). This is extremely useless. Neither of these programs can be run from the browser, they need to be installed. Which renders Gamers Corner totally useless.
It also shows how Gamers Corner was advertised. It’s obviously intended to target children who are looking for games popular with their peers. Naive and inexperienced with malware, children may encounter advertisements for Gamers Corner before they see the official Minecraft and Roblox sites. Gamers Corner is extremely easy to install, there is zero technical knowledge required.
In addition, add-ons like Gamers Corner sometimes come bundled with random free programs. If you download free programs from the internet, you must have encountered bundlers before. Programs that include additional programs in their installers.
How to remove Gamers Corner
Browser0 hijackers like Gamers Corner are detected by some anti-malware programs, so you can use those (Combo Cleaner for macOS, Spyhunter for Windows, and others) to scan your whole computer and look for suspicious programs on it.
But you can also just remove Gamers Corner manually. Such as by right-clicking its icon in your browser’s top right corner, then choosing the “Remove” option in the pop-up menu. I’d still advise you to check carefully your installed programs (in the Control Panel) and your browser add-ons (in browser settings). Examine everything that appeared at the same time as Gamers Corner did.
