GoGameGo removal
To remove the GoGameGo extension, you can do it manually or automatically, or combine the two methods. Due to how GoGameGo might have been installed in your computer, like with the help of adware or bundlers, at least a scan with an antivirus tool is recommended to see if those types of programs are lurking in your system. All you need to do is to download reliable anti-malware application, such as Spyhunter for PC, Malwarebytes, or Combo Cleaner, install it on your computer, and then run a full scan of all files stored on your drives. These programs should detect and remove GoGameGo automatically.

GoGameGo distribution
It’s not very difficult to indicate whether your computer is infected with this malware or not. For one, your browser’s home page is replaced with one by GoGameGo and the search bar provided by it only uses MySearch (no option to choose your own search provider). Plus, GoGameGo might display floating ads right in your browser – these are labeled with a slogan “Ads by GoGameGo” or “Brought to you by GoGameGo”. This extension is quite intrusive and the only way to miss it is if you have multiple browser hijackers installed.
GoGameGo promotes the MySearch engine as a way to profit its creators. MySearch is a search engine with ads that advertisers pay to put in there The more users MySearch has, the more money the advertisers will pay. GoGameGo forces people to use MySearch and artificially grows the userbase of this website – not with unique features and good user experience, but with aggressive and deceptive marketing bordering on malicious.
You might have encountered GoGameGo when trying to watch a video online or download a file. Possibly, you were redirected to its download page and couldn’t see a way to leave or refuse the installation. Maybe you were lured in by GoGameGo’s promise of instant access to popular games.
GoGameGo is advertised on the same sites as most newtab viruses – pirating sites and free streaming sites, with the help of infamous pop-up ad-networks like Adcash and Propeller ads. Many shortened links and adware sites lead to GoGameGo’s installation page, so clearly, they’re using adware and deceptive ads to spread. They might also use freeware bundlers, which are free software with PUPs (potentially unwanted programs)tacked on them and installed at the same time. This means that you might start your browser one day and see GoGameGo’s new tab page – and have no idea where it came from.
Harm in using GoGameGo
The same ads that spread GoGameGo also immediately redirect to other websites that might be owned by various cyber-criminals, such as tech support scams and phishing sites. Those types of ads can be really dangerous and cause financial harm, so the fact that the extension’s creators are willing to work with them shows how little they care about the safety of their users. Consider that GoGameGo shows ads in web search results and related websites.
This browser extension is semi-dangerous: it’s not real malware, but it will expose you to more ads and take away some of your control over your browser. Additionally, GoGameGo tracks your web search queries and uses them to improve search suggestions, which means that your privacy is not as respected as it is in other search engines. MySearch does not encrypt search queries a very basic privacy consideration that mainstream search providers have already adopted.
As mentioned earlier, GoGameGo’s distribution strategies are deceptive and even hostile, so this infection is possibly a symptom of a bigger problem with malware, such as additional hijackers, like Directions Whiz or YourTemplateFinder.
