Hotstories.space uses notifications to deliver pop-up ads to your browser. To stop these ads, block notifications from Hotstories.space and other suspicious sites.
We have an article on blocking notifications. You can block individual sites’ ads or you can stop all of them from ever asking you to allow their pop-ups.
- Open notification settings in your browser:

Problems with Hotstories.space
Tricks people to allow its notifications
Hotstories.space is a website, but it doesn’t really have content. If you try to visit it, you’ll likely get a blank page. Hotstories.space doesn’t want people to be able to go to it.
People end up on Hotstories.space unintentionally, usually when a random pop-up ad on an unrelated website opens it. When Hotstories.space shows up, it has a few different looks:
- A video player with a loading video.
- A reCAPTCHA page asking you to prove that you’re not a robot.
- A YouTube logo telling you to press “Allow” to watch a video.
- A partially-full loading bar.
- A download button.
In all of these pages, Hotstories.space is asking you to allow its notifications.
The idea is that Hotstories.space shows ads that match the site that it’s advertising on. On free video streaming sites, it shows ads that look like video players. On file hosting sites, it shows download buttons and loading bars. And Hotstories.space appears so unexpectedly that one might not even realize that it’s an ad.
As a result, people may follow Hotstories.space’s instructions because they trust it, thinking that it’s related to the site that they were just on.
This way, Hotstories.space tricks people into allowing it to send notifications to their browsers. This is a problem, browser developers are aware of it, and they try to make it harder to exploit.
Unsafe ads
Hotstories.space is an advertising site, ultimately. It shows pop-ups that look and feel like spam advertisements, like those emails that are sent straight to spam. Like spam email, those ads may be dangerous.
Once I subscribed to Hotstories.space’s notifications, it redirected me to a site to install a cheating tool that Chrome detected as dangerous. So, that’s a bad start.
Other examples of Hotstories.space’s ads include:
- Ads that say that you’ve won something. They tend to lead to phishing scams (sites that try to get you to reveal personal information).
- Similarly, Hotstories.space may show ads for various cheating tools, hacks, and exploits (like the Cash APP scam).
- Pop-ups for browser hijackers and other notification spammers (such as Cda-google.com, Meetclick.biz, and Startimes.club) are likely.
- Ads leading to unreliable articles trying to sell you various products, such as lottery prediction software and options trading software, diet pills and other supplements, various cheap knock-off products, etc.
Some of the ads by Hotstories.space may lead to scams, get-rich-quick schemes, and other potentially dangerous sites. Hotstories.space offers an option for advertisers who’ve been rejected by other companies, which is why it shows so many dangerous advertisements.
