Internet Security Plus is another version of Internet Security virus, which is a dangerous rogue antivirus program infecting computers for more than a year. Both programs work identically and bring the same problems to the users. The rogue application pretends to be a legitimate security tool which can detect infections on your system and take care of them. Internet Security Plus can be installed to random systems with the help of Trojan viruses.
Once inside, the program imitates looking for infections on your computer. Internet Security Plus uses a fake scanner which only simulates looking for threats and by the end of the scan, it displays fake scan results. The application claims that your system is infected and recommends removing the threats with a full version of its program. Internet Security Plus also displays tons of security notifications and pop up ads which create an illusion that your system is actually at risk.
In addition, the program can terminate your legitimate programs, stating that they are infected. Your antivirus tools may not work properly as well due to the reason that Internet Security Plus is programmed to protect itself from being removed. Purchasing a full version of a program will be presented as the only solution. In fact, it is just the way for the cyber criminals to earn money from you. Do not trust this rogue program. Remove Internet Security Plus immediately after detecting it on your computer.
Removing this rogue antivirus becomes quite challenging because it blocks you from downloading anything from Internet to ensure you will not install antimalware applications that you can get online. Since removing Internet Security Plus is a difficult task, we provide the steps below that explain how to eliminate it from your computer:
- Stop Internet Security Plus processes (without doing it you will not be able to launch any anti-malware program or download it from Internet). Try the following:
- Press Start->Run. Enter taskkill /F /IM itdefender.exe in the field and press enter. Repeat this step several times, till malware window closes. (depending on the version of a malware, you might also need to use taskkill /F /IM amsecure.exe, taskkill /F /IM isecurity.exe or taskkill /F /IM indefender.exe).
- Another way to stop malware processes is by pressing ctrl+shift+esc. The command will open task explorer. Normally the latter should be killed by Internet Security Plus malware. However, if you are quick enough to press “End program” button while your PC is busy, you can kill malware process too. Please note that this method is not the most reliable one.
- Scan your PC using more than one anti-malware program in order to identify infected files, for example Spyhunter or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. These are paid programs therefore for removing the threat you will have to purchase them. You may also try a manual removal without purchasing a program since it gives the location of the infection but the latter method is recommended only if you have enough knowledge about computers not to delete important system files.
- Remove Malware startup entry by launching msconfig and unchecking the malware process from startup list.
