iWin Toolbar - How to remove

iWin Toolbar

iWin Toolbar is another browser hijacker that is related to Conduit. Just like its predecessors, the program makes changes in the browsers of the infected systems. It changes homepage to search.conduit.com and replaces default search provider to iWin3 Customized Web Search. These changes are made without users permission and it is not easy to set your browser settings back to the ones you had before.

iWin Toolbar causes lots of redirections to the websites you have never seen before. It also modifies your search results by adding mainly sponsored websites. This way, the program increases traffic of specific pages and can even install other unwanted applications to the targeted system. What is more, the program can record your browsing activity and send this information to the remote server. Later such data can be used for marketing purposes.

iWin Toolbar is distributed through other programs that you can get from the Internet for free. So basically, if you want to avoid getting such programs to your computer, you have to be more careful about your installations of other programs. Always follow the installation steps and do not allow any unknown applications to be installed on your system.

Remove iWin Toolbar from your computer as soon as possible. Although it’s not a virus it can cause many issues related to your privacy and computer security. Go to Control Panel -> Add and Remove programs list and uninstall it from there. It is important that you remove all other programs installed with the hijacker, as some of them might redownload or reset back browser settings. Scan with Spyhunter as it identifies such programs quite well. You should also check browser extensions for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. If you do not see iWin Toolbar, you should use antimalware tools like Spyhunter and scan your computer with it. Uninstalling the program from your computer doesn’t change your search providers, it only stops ads appearing on your computer. You will have to do it manually by yourself. Depending on the browser you are using, follow the instructions below:
