JustPlugIt is an adware which sometimes can be named as JustPlugIt toolbar. It was designed by InstalleRex-WebPrick company and is distributed via the WebPrick download and install manager. It is not the only adware program that you can get from WebPrick installer. JustPlugIt promise to enhance users web browsing experience but instead of it JustPlugIt provides users with various ads which can come in several forms, such as pop-up, banner, and hyper-text links ads in the Web browser. It is a web browser extension and can operate on all most popular web browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. It is not officially a virus but JustPlugIt web browser extension performs several malicious actions and due to this it is listed as a PUP (potentially unwanted program). That’s why we highly recommend to remove it from your computer. And that is not even all malicious actions that JustPlugIt performs. It can also act as a browser hijacker and change your browser settings or even install some more malicious programs. Besides that, JustPlugIt gathers information about users such as browsing history and search queries in order to improve the ads it displays and make them more engaging.
Now it should be clear why JustPlugIt is an unwanted program and why you should get rid of it. The best way to do this is to scan your PC with a reputable anti-malware program like Spyhunter or malwarebytes. Such a tool will detect and delete the threats automatically. You can also perform this manually – just follow our JustPlugIt tutorial given below.
Using Control Panel to remove the main JustPlugIt components and installers
- Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
- Look for JustPlugIt and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related. Scanning with Anti-Malware programs like Spyhunter or Stopzilla might give a good idea of what programs you should remove from there as well.
