Live Protection Suite 2019 - How to remove

Live Protection Suite 2019 is a fake antivirus program which tries to trick people to pay for the removal of viruses which don’t actually exist on the machine. More than that, Live Protection Suite acts like adware by opening promoted websites without the consent of the user. This rogue application affects Windows computers. It’s completely useless and should be removed before it causes any problems.

There are tiers of malware. Some unwanted programs do really scan your computer for problems. They just label everything they can get away with as a danger that needs to be fixed by buying the paid version. Web cookies, temporary files, a registry setting that the program does not understand — these are declared problems and warned about with unwarranted alarm. Dishonest though that is, it’s not even on the same level of Live Protection Suite 2019.

The Live Protection Suite application is not just too eager with its detections — there are no real detections. The scan results are truly fake, and any real viruses remain undetected. Endless pop-ups warn about attacks to imitate real-time protection, constant detections create a great sense of urgency — when the only virus on the device could be Live Protection Suite. Even no antivirus at all is better than a fake program.

Rogue antivirus red flags

Very quick scans. Thoroughly scanning files usually takes minutes if not hours. A lot of fake scans keep their duration short, under a minute. In most normal circumstances, it’s physically impossible to scan all the files in that time.  But scammers know that people don’t have the patience to sit through a scan that takes 40 minutes.

Online scans. A website needs explicit permission to access your files. An online scan of your files is not going to happen unless you upload the files. But scammers still use fake online scans to promote their malware. Wod007.com is an example: it fake-detects viruses on your computer, then promotes a PUP (potentially unwanted program).

Copied designs. Live Protection Suite has windows that are designed to mimic the look of Windows Defender, other Windows settings, borrowing legitimacy from Windows and making itself look more trustworthy. Another fake antivirus program, Malware Defender 2015, also does this — copying the look of Windows Defender to not look suspicious.

Alarmist messages. Live Protection Suite finds so many viruses and even ongoing attacks that it’s ridiculous. This is meant to cause extreme anxiety in you and make you buy the full version of Live Protection Suite.

Complete confidence. Live Protection Suite ensures users that it protects against all viruses, all web-based attacks. That’s impossible to know as online criminals are always developing new methods. Besides, a lot of online scams and viruses use social engineering to trick people into inviting malware on their system — much like Live Protection Suite does with its marketing.

Intrusive behavior. Pop-up warnings, constant new browser tabs or windows being opened. Live Protection Suite starts scanning every time you start your computer with no option to disable that — like Antivirus Pro 2017, another rogue antivirus.

How does malware infect computers?

Free software bundles should be suspicious. Bundles — additional software included in the installation of a program — are not always harmful or malicious, but often they are used to distribute unwanted and harmful programs. If Live Protection Suite was included as an addition, that would mean that its developer paid to be included, hoping that he can make his money back from the people buying his fake antivirus.

Deceptive marketing. A lot of fake antivirus programs — including Live Protection Suite — actually have nice, professional-looking websites that aren’t obviously suspicious. The only way to find out if a program is trustworthy is to research it online, but once the application earns a bad reputation, its developers shut it down, rebrand, and start over.

Both of these ways have Live Protection Suite being invited on a computer by the person who can actually install them. That’s why social engineering is so dangerous — people harm their own computer without knowing.

  1. What can I do if I purchased this software? Can I get a refund? Their support site does not work anymore!

  2. Unfortunately, if you have already paid for the subscription, it’s unlikely that you will retrieve your money. You can try to contact the bank you made the transfer through and inform them about the situation – maybe they will be able to cancel the transaction
