Mobil-izle.xyz is an advertising spammer that uses notifications to send ads. It targets those trying to watch videos or download music online. It appears together with a bunch of other notification hijacker sites.
If Mobil-izle.xyz gets access to your notifications, you may see little pop-up ads labeled with its name. These ads can be blocked in your notification settings.

How Mobil-izle.xyz spreads
Advertised online
Mobil-izle.xyz is an advertising site – a notification hijacker. I encountered it while looking up other hijackers. In particular, Mobil-izle.xyz seems to be related to Bcvc.live, Smartcdn.site, Pushails.com, Bitfly.io (a URL shortener), and Indir.blue. Some of these sites only target people in Turkey, others are more international.
Mobil-izle.xyz is advertised online. Sometimes, it appears as a fake video player and tells you to click the “Allow” button to watch the movie. Most of the time, it’s promoted by fake MP3 download links which exclaim “Found the MP3 you were looking for!”.
It appears that Mobil-izle.xyz is advertised to those who are looking to download free music albums from a certain blog. The download links for the albums redirect from one notification hijacker to another.
Takes over notifications
The goal of a notification hijacker is to get the person who sees it to allow their notifications:
- They show the notification prompt with options to Allow and Block notifications as it is defined by your web browser.
- They show a message asking you to click the Allow button, but they lie about what the button does. Mobil-izle.xyz claims that it supposedly plays a movie or downloads a file.
- When the user clicks the Allow button, they give permission to the website to send messages to their browser.
- The website (Mobil-izle.xyz, Indir.blue, and others) uses this permission to send ads.
Problems with notification spam
Unwanted ads
Notifications are not like normal ads. In fact, they’re not supposed to be ads at all. They’re messages that ideally are time-sensitive, like a new email or direct message. The cool thing about notifications is that they allow a website to communicate with your browser even when you don’t have that site open.
What’s not cool is sites like Mobil-izle.xyz abusing them to show unwanted ads on people’s screens. The ads are unwanted and they may be adult-oriented (gambling ads, porn) and possibly even promote potentially harmful content (unregulated supplements and other medical products, options trading scams, etc.).
Abusive notifications
Browser developers have been aware of the problems caused by sites that abuse notifications. They introduced measures like smaller notification requests in Firefox and the quieter notification UI option in Chrome. These are supposed to reduce the number of accidental notification subscriptions. However, Mobil-izle.xyz and other notification hijackers continue to thrive.
How to stop unwanted ads by Mobil-izle.xyz
When an unwanted notification shows up on your screen, click the little gear icon and select the “Block all notifications from this site” option.
Or go into your browser settings and manage things from there:
- Chrome – type “chrome://settings/content/notifications” in the address box.
- Edge (Chromium) – type “edge://settings/content/notifications” in the address box.
- Safari – in the Safari menu, choose Preferences, Websites, Notifications.
- Firefox – open Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down to Permissions, and click on Settings next to Notifications.
Scan your computer for malware with Spyhunter for Windows, Combo Cleaner for macOS, or other antivirus programs. If a malicious file, program, or browser add-on is detected, remove it.
To avoid sites like Mobil-izle.xyz, you can use programs and browser add-ons that block malicious sites and/or ads. I’ve seen Mobil-izle.xyz included in blocklists used by ad blockers (Github.com). It makes sense – Mobil-izle.xyz is ultimately an advertising site.
