Luckily, all the browsers that support notifications allow you to manage which sites can send messages to your browser.

You can manually add Mybestnewz.com to your list of sites whose notifications are blocked. It’ll be added to a list in your settings and not allowed to offer notifications to you again.

Don’t be fooled by Mybestnewz.com’s news site front – it’s just content taken from another, legitimate site (La Times). Mybestnewz.com doesn’t seem to have any original content. It does have a lot of clones, though, including Yourniceposts.com, Alltopposts.com, and many others.

Notification hijacker

Apps and websites need permission to be able to show you notifications. But they don’t always ask for it honestly.

When Mybestnewz.com asks for your permission, it uses this bizarre line:

Click the Allow button to subscribe to the push notifications and continue watching.

“Continue watching”? Mybestnewz.com doesn’t seem to be related to video streaming. It redirects to gambling sites and other controversial sites, it doesn’t show videos.

Knowing that Mybestnewz.com is advertised on video streaming sites (pirate sites and adult video sites), this makes sense. People try to watch a video, get a Mybestnewz.com pop-up ad, and read that they have to click Allow to keep watching.

Below, Mybestnewz.com reveals that it shows ads via notifications, but many of us don’t read fine print like that. And besides, most malicious sites, like Mediakick.biz, do not post such disclaimers. In this way, Mybestnewz.com is unusually honest. It’s still a notification spammer, though.
