About OfferDeal adware
OfferDeal is described as useful application that will help you to save both your time and money when shopping online by providing you with various links, coupons and deals. However, that’s not really true because all those offers and deals are displayed in an annoying form of web advertisements, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text, banner or contextual ads. Moreover, most of the time those offers are fake. It’s just a wise trick to win your attention and make you click on one of them. And we don’t recommend to do that.
If it happens so that you click on advertisement displayed by OfferDeal, you will be immediately redirected to other websites that may be owned by cyber criminals, such as hackers or scammers. This way your computer can get infected with other viruses or you can even get scammed and lose your hard earned money.
Another unwanted feature of OfferDeal is data collection. Once installed it will collect various information about your browsing habits, such as browsing history, search queries, most visited sites or even your IP and email address. They adjust those advertisements according to collected information and make them even more relevant and attractive to you this way, so chances that you will click on one of them rise. And that’s the main goal of OfferDeal because they get paid for every click you make.
Distribution Methods of OfferDeal
It travels the same way as most of other adware – bundled with various freebies. It is when you download and install some small application from unreliable website, there is a chance that OfferDeal will be installed without even warning you about that. That’s why you should always be very careful during the installation of freeware if you don’t want to get infected.
Never skip any step as and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible. Don’t rush because some of the most important information can be displayed in a very tiny font and you don’t want to overlook that. Reading all terms and conditions would be considered wise as well. If you notice that some additional software they you are not aware of is being installed alongside – don’t allow this installation to be completed because it can possibly be OfferDeal or any other malware.
