At the beginning of May, 2018, a new browser hijacker, called go.pajosh.com, started spreading rapidly amongst a virtual world users. Just like its previous releases go.bonefreeze.com and go.normandoh.com, go.pajosh.com virus targets the most commonly used browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. Pajosh also mentions different software versions for PC, Mac and mobile platforms.
Firstly, go.pajosh.com browser hijacker gets into your system unnoticed as an add-on, usually with various fake update bundles or program installs from unsafe websites. Even though it can’t be fully considered as a serious virus because it doesn’t affect the whole operating system, yet it is still a malicious PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program), which makes changes in victims’ browsers without consent.
After the user installs infected software with this PUP, go.pajosh.com appears as their main browser’s homepage and search engine. Pajosh design is very plain and seems harmless, however there are many problems that lay behind its minimalistic cover. Needless to say, go.pajosh.com is not a real search engine on its own, but just a mediator between user and search.yahoo.com browser services. Once you enter a wanted search in Pajosh browser it shows redirected Yahoo search results, which are not the greatest. But that is not all that is wrong and shady about this browser hijacker.
In their Terms of Use go.pajosh.com states that during the search through this browser user agrees with website’s suggested additional and complimentary software installs, which will be executed without additional request for install permission. Pajosh also keeps the right to display third party advertisements and redirection to unwanted sites. Like many variants of browser hijackers go.pajosh.com “may gather information which is not PII on an aggregated basis, such as your country or region, the installed applications etc.” and “may share non-personal information with relevant third parties”, but we all know from experience with many other browser hijackers that there is nothing “non-personal” for these malicious browser viruses.
Therefore if you don’t want any third parties to collect your personal information, track browsing activity and install harmful software that can easily infect your whole operating system, which can lead to valuable data loss and more serious problems, you should get rid of go.pajosh.com browser hijacker as soon as you see it appear instead of your usual browser. What is more the removal is really easy to do for any user, no matter the computer using skill proficiency.
