PC Cure Pro is a PC optimizer. It offers to “increase Windows performance” and “speed up PC”. But instead of helping users, PC Cure Pro deceives them by showing made-up programs and exaggerating issues.
PC Cure Pro is flagged by antivirus programs as a “deceptor”, “misleading”, and “malware” (Virustotal.com).
Despite being detected by antivirus tools, PC Cure Pro is not true malware. It is a PUP – potentially unwanted program.

Why PC Cure Pro can’t be trusted
PC Cure Pro’s developers can’t be trusted
There are so many little issues with PC Cure Pro. First, it’s not obvious who developed this program. That’s always a bad sign because now you can’t check the developer’s reputation.
At least we know that PC Cure Pro is made by the same people who made Disk Boost Pro, Registry Cure Pro, and Disk Cure Pro. But that’s not good. These programs also get flagged by antivirus scanners, especially Registry Cure Pro.
And it’s for a reason that these programs get detected. Windows PCs do not need registry cleaners. They also don’t need disk defragmenters, as Windows takes care of all that. So, why do PC Cure Pro’s developers still sell such unnecessary programs? They’re completely redundant!
PC Cure Pro is a lot like PC Speeder Pro, PC Power Booster, PC Mechanic Plus, and many other low-quality programs that are potentially unwanted at best, and scareware scams at worst.
PC Cure Pro is redundant
PC Cure Pro is advertised on its main site, Pccurepro.com. You can download and install the program yourself, provided that your browser and antivirus don’t immediately quarantine the installer for being malicious.
If you install PC Cure Pro, it scans your PC and likely finds hundreds of “issues”. These include undeleted browser cookies, log files, prefetcher files. After the scan is done, PC Cure Pro asks that you go premium to “fix” these “issues”.
It also shows notification pop-ups warning about slow startup and buying the full version of the program.
I wonder if it is PC Cure Pro that is really the one hurting the PC’s performance:
- It deletes files that are unnecessary but meant to improve the performance of various programs.
- It scans the computer far too often, slowing down the drive.
- It runs in the background unnecessarily, taking up precious resources.
Sure, freeing up some space on your computer by deleting junk files can be helpful. But you can do it with built-in Windows tools which are free.
How to delete PC Cure Pro
Most PC optimizers are junkware. To be safe, use only the most reputable programs that have good recent reviews on reputable outlets, or just stick to first-party tools. Microsoft has good advice and various tools to help improve Windows performance for free.
PC Cure Pro can be uninstalled from the Control Panel or the Settings app. You might need to quit the program first (right-click the Taskbar, open Task Manager, click to show more details (if applicable), find PC Cure Pro in the list of programs that are running, highlight it, and press the End Task button in the bottom right corner).
Use an antivirus program (such as Spyhunter, Malwarebytes, others) to check your device for other malicious apps and files. If any are found, you might want to delete them, too.
If you paid for PC Cure Pro, it does offer refunds, so you might be able to take advantage of that.

How to remove PC Cure Pro using Windows Control Panel
Many hijackers and adware like PC Cure Pro install some of their components as regular Windows programs as well as additional software. This part of malware can be uninstalled from the Control Panel. To access it, do the following.- Start→Control Panel (older Windows) or press Windows Key→Search and enter Control Panel and then press Enter (Windows 8, Windows 10).
- Choose Uninstall Program (if you don't see it, click in the upper right next to "View by" and select Category).
- Go through the list of programs and select entries related to PC Cure Pro . You can click on "Name" or "Installed On" to reorder your programs and make PC Cure Pro easier to find.
- Click the Uninstall button. If you're asked if you really want to remove the program, click Yes.
- In many cases anti-malware programs are better at detecting related parasites, thus I recommend installing Spyhunter to identify other programs that might be a part of this infection.
