PCProtect - How to remove

PCProtect rogue anti-malware tool is advertised as a highly convenient tool to protect operating systems from cyber threats. It belongs to an UK-based developing company SS Protect Ltd. It promises to run smart-scans to reassure that a device would be functioning properly and would not malfunction. However, such applications do not strike our security team as trustworthy.

PCProtect rogue anti-malware tools is a scam and should not be purchased

This is because of the fact that their capacities might be over exaggerated and people could be spending their money on a tool that will do a poor job in attempting to secure devices from malware. We see similar applications every day, some of them are the following: ScanGuard and Windows PRO Scanner.

PCProtect offers a 12 month license which will be applicable to three separate operating systems. For the price of 49 euros, users are promised to boost performances of their operating systems and enjoy an advanced anti-virus protection. Nevertheless, this is another scam from people and a variety of former users agree that this tool is useless (Review). The 49 euros or dollars (the same price for both currencies), is only the initial price for the product. Once the 12-month deal expires, users will have to pay a full price of 149 euros/dollars.

PCProtect rogue anti-malware

Of course, this is not straightforwardly told by the SS Protect Ltd. They hide this significant detail in EULA document. Therefore, we do recognize that many people are not eager to read these documents. Researchers have clearly emphasized on the necessity of reading these documents (Why).
If you are wondering whether statements of efficiency and careful protection will be fulfilled, take a look at a very revealing review of this tool (PCProtect):

“PCProtect is a truly terrible product. Most spectacularly, it failed at its most important gig! Its Real-Time protection completely missed the most basic virus test available! The included VPN does work and uses great encryption, but performance is about as meh as it gets. And judging by the company’s privacy policy, it certainly isn’t private!”

Also, the tool offers a variety of other functions that are supposed to be very helpful for users. PCProtect claims to be the ‘ultimate antivirus’, and if you look at the feature list you can see why. It offers an antivirus engine, real-time protection, firewall controls, ad blocking, disk cleaning, start-up program management, a browser manager and more. Much to our surprise, the tool describes an unusual benefit: a VPN service. This sounds very tempting as users will be allowed to choose virtual locations anytime they want and improve their browsing experience. However, none of these functions will be performed professionally.

Furthermore, researchers emphasized that the program might be bugged as scans a quite difficult to run. Actually, we found many security researchers that agree with our decision to place PCProtect among other unreliable anti-malware tools (What). It is not a virus, but the shady advertising tactics applied definitely raise some concerns and should be seen as proof of a dishonest way of operating a business.

To object the last doubt you might have about this tool, we should also mention that the Privacy Policy of this tool is fishy as well. It appears that the tool will secretively monitor your every move online, collect your name, email address and a lot of other information. If this sounds tempting we should remind you that this company parades a highly-suspicious program, adopting sneaky advertising methods. This type of stalking resembles spyware parasites  (More) that we try to protect users from. Its free trial is just as bad: you will be able to scan operating systems for infections or errors, but will not be able to fix any of them.

Is Search.pcprotect.com a browser hijacker?

Even though the representatives of the program do not mention that they might be introducing a unique platform for searching, we found that they have a Search.pcprotect.com tool. It could be that once you install the program, even the free trial, your browsing might be directed to this specific platform. Is it reliable? Well, knowing the fact that the owners are not the most transparent about their products, we would hope that users would select more appropriate search engines than this.

Save your money and try more reliable tools
