How to remove Pushails.com ads
Bock unwanted notifications
Pushails.com is able to show pop-ups if your web browser allows it. You have probably never intentionally allowed Pushails.com to send notifications to your browser, but it still happened. Luckily, you can stop it very easily.
The next time a Pushails.com pop-up ad comes up on your screen, click the little gear icon next to the X (close) icon. It’s in the upper right corner of the Pushails.com pop-up. Then select “Block all notifications from this site”.
Or, instead of waiting for the next ad to come up, go to your browser’s notification settings and block Pushails.com’s pop-ups from there.
- Chrome – type “chrome://settings/content/notifications” in the address box.
- Safari – in the Safari menu, choose Preferences, Websites, Notifications.
- Edge (Chromium) – type “edge://settings/content/notifications” in the address box.
- Firefox – open Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down to Permissions, and click on Settings next to Notifications.
If Pushails.com is sending you pop-up ads, then it is on the list of sites that your browser accepts notifications from. To the right of the Pushails.com address, click the button that brings up the options to Block or Remove it. Click Block.
Repeat the same for the other sites that are on your list and that you don’t want to hear from. There might be multiple versions of Pushails.com on the list. They all need to be blocked.
Here’s an example of blocking Pushails.com from sending notifications in Google Chrome. The ads that I got from Pushails.com were mostly NSFW, so I pixelated those pictures for this post.
Find and delete malware
Sites like Pushails.com often promote junkware and are promoted by various adware infections. So, it might be productive to check your computer for potentially unwanted programs and malware. Examine your recently-installed apps and programs, scan your device with Combo Cleaner for macOS, Spyhunter for Windows, or another anti-malware app that you trust, and delete suspicious items if you find any.
How Pushails.com hijacks browsers
Pushails.com is very popular, estimated at getting tens of millions of visits each month. And it gets most of its traffic from movie watching sites, TV show pirating websites, and video converters. These sites advertise Pushails.com by opening new tabs in your browser. You almost can’t avoid these incredibly aggressive ads because they get triggered almost randomly.
Once Pushails.com is open in your browser, you might not even realize that you’re on an advertising site. It might show an image of a video player. As Pushails.com gets advertised on video streaming sites, seeing a video player is not unexpected. It’s meant to trick you and every visitor that they’re on the same streaming site as earlier, whether that’s Y2mate, 2conv, Animeflv, etc. It’s meant to make you think “Oh, is this what their new video player looks like?”
Pushails.com might show a progress bar, a request to confirm that you are not a robot, and other cliches used by notification spammers. Pushails.com is very similar to Bot-checker.com, Flvto.biz, Topflownews.com, and others. All these sites use different strategies to get users, but they all make money by spamming people with ad-filled notifications.
You can use ad blockers to try and block some of the pop-ups on these sites. You can also use anti-malware programs to block malicious and suspicious websites.
What Pushails.com advertises
Once Pushails.com has been allowed to send notifications, it does that very quickly. It shows ads for various sites, mostly – risky and low-reputation categories of products:
- options trading scams and cryptocurrency trading scams (they often use the names of celebrities),
- browser hijackers and adware infections,
- expensive chat services,
- subscription scams (fake giveaways),
- potentially unregulated health products.
When mainstream advertising companies refuse to deal with certain kinds of ads, whether because they’re promoting products that are easily exploited to scam people or because their material is on the adult side, these advertisers look for alternative advertising options. And Pushails.com is one of them. So, not all ads on Pushails.com are dangerous. But some of them are, and a bigger portion than on most websites.
Not to mention how annoying its ads are. They appear way too often, the same ads repeat again and again, and they cover up the content of the webpages you’re on. Pushails.com is not very dangerous, but it’s still malicious.
