SaveShare - How to remove

SaveShare is an adware program that displays tons of pop ups on the infected computer while a user is browsing the Internet. The program can infiltrate into Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. Once infected, you will see random ads while browsing mainly shopping websites, like Amazon, eBay or some other popular pages, for example, Facebook, Youtube, etc. If you click on these ads, you will be redirected to some unknown website. The goal of SaveShare is to increase traffic of these websites.

Saveshare gets into computers bundled with other software. You can avoid this if you are careful enough while installing other software and unmarking all options to install extra programs that you are not familiar with. However, many users often skip the steps of installation just to make it quicker.

Beware that SaveShare adware can also collect information about your browsing habits. This data can be sent to the third parties and used for various marketing related purposes. Moreover, its redirects can lead to some compromised websites, where you can get your system infected. As you see it’s a program that poses a risk to both: your privacy and security. It is not recommended to keep it on your system. Remove SaveShare from your computer as soon as you detect it on your system. Below we provide detailed steps how to do it:

1. Scan your computer using antimalware program that removes adware and browser hijackers, for example, Spyhunter.
2. Go to Control Panel -> Add and Remove Programs -> Check is there are any unfamiliar applications related to SaveShare. If you see any, remove them. It is also recommended to remove any other applications installed on the same day.
3. Remove the toolbar from all of Internet browsers:
   • o For Internet Explorer: Go to “Tools” (or gear icon in Internet Explorer 9), -> “Manage Add-ons”. Search for SaveShare. If you find any entries, disable them.
   • o For Google Chrome: Click on the wrench or bars icon on the top right of the screen; go to “Tools”-> “Extensions”. If you see any extensions related to SaveShare, click on a trash can icon next to them.
   • o For Mozilla Firefox: Go to “Tools” -> “Add-ons” ->; “Extensions”. If you see any extensions related to SaveShare, disable them.
4. Check if your home page and default search engine are changed to the one you always used. If you see any unfamiliar addresses, replace it with your own, e.g. google.com.
