ShopGlider is another adware that is installed to computers without users’ consent and that bothers them by displaying tons of ads on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. On its official website, the program states that it can improve your shopping by providing the best deals and saving your precious time as well as money. However, the problem about ShopGlider is that it is often installed without users’ permission and it disturbs browsing instead of enhancing it by displaying an excessive amount of popups.
Ads by ShopGlider are based on the websites you are visiting and your search keywords. For example, if recently you were looking for information about some holiday destination, you may be receiving ads offering to book a hotel or rent a car in there. If you click on these ads, they will take you to sponsored websites that ShopGlider makers advertise. They are also getting paid from affiliate links for increasing traffic of these pages.
Most of the users want to get rid of these ads and to be able to browse normally again. It is not recommended to keep this application on your computer, because it breaches your privacy by tracking the information about the websites that you visit and your search queries. ShopGlider can send this data to the third parties which would use it for other marketing campaigns.
If your browsing is constantly being interrupted by these ads, remove ShopGlider as soon as possible. Uninstall any programs that are related to it from your Control Panel and run a full system scan with Spyhunter, hitman or other legitimate tool that you trust. They will eliminate these annoying messages easily. Don’t forget to upgrade your antispyware to its newest version to ensure detection and removal of the most recent unwanted programs.
If you want to avoid ShopGlider and similar programs entering your computer, make sure you give more attention to the installation steps of the software that you download from the Internet. Always opt for Custom or Advanced installation and see what you are agreeing without any rush to finish the download.
