Smileys We Love Toolbar - How to remove

Smileys We Love Toolbar is a potentially unwanted program that is installed to computers bundled with free software that users are downloading by themselves. The program can hijack one of these browsers – Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Although it’s not a virus, the program poses risk to get infected and is also very annoying.

Smileys We Love Toolbar tends to collect information about about your browsing habits. It tracks your search queries, most often visited websites and similar information. Later it can send it to the third parties where such data can be used for marketing purposes. The program also displays tons or ads with sponsored links seeking to increase page rank. It can be very disturbing, especially when you use Facebook, Gmail or Twitter chat as Smileys We Love Toolbar tends to hijack them.

On Internet explorer:

1. Click arrow on the right of search box;
2. Do the following: on IE8-9 choose Manage Search providers, on ie7 click change search defaults;
3. Remove Smileys We Love Toolbar from the list.

On Firefox :

1. Enter “about:config” in url bar. This will open settings page;
2. Type “Keyword.url” in the search box. Right click it & reset it;
3. Type “browser.search.defaultengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it;
4. Type “browser.search.selectedengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it;
5. Search for ‘browser.newtab.url’. Right-click and reset. This will make sure that the search page won’t launch on each new tab.

On Google Chrome:

1. Click 3 horizontal lines icon on browser toolbar;
2. Select Settings;
3. Select Basics ->Manage Search engines;
4. Remove unnecessary search engines from list;
5. Go back to settings. On Startup choose open blank page ( you can remove undesired pages from the set pages link too).

Please note, it is very important to scan your computer with a reliable antimalware program after Smileys We Love Toolbar is removed as it might be your system got infected with viruses while having it.
