Strong Vault is a malicious program that can be installed to computers bundled with various free downloads, like VLC player, other players, PDF creators and similar applications. Often users do not understand how this program got into their systems and for this reason considered it to be a virus. In fact Strong Vault is categorized as a potentially unwanted program.
Although the application promises to provide the best backup solutions and protect your files, it can actually bring more problems than benefits. Strong Vault is responsible for introducing many malicious programs, like rootkits, browser hijackers and similar harmful applications. The program also changes some of your browser settings. It usually replaces your start page and default search engine with its own. Strong Vault can display various advertisements while you are trying to make some search on the Internet. Constant redirections badly disturb your browsing activity. The application also increases a risk of your system to be infected while redirected to some compromised website.
Pay attention to your downloads and be very careful following installation steps of any software that you are downloading. Usually you can see what programs are bundled and you can opt out installing them during the installation of the main program. Remove Strong Vault if you have already detected it on your computer. Below we explain how to do it:
- Scan your computer using antimalware program that removes adware and browser hijackers, for example, Spyhunter.

- o For Mozilla Firefox: Go to “Tools” -> “Add-ons” ->; “Extensions”. If you see any extensions related to Strong Vault, disable them.
