SunriseBrowse is a browser add-on that should help you to search the web and compare prices. That means when you browse the Internet, various deals, coupons and commercial offers will pop-up randomly (especially on e-commerce websites, such as Amazon or eBay). Sounds a little bit irritating, right? However, developers of this adware promise that it will help you to save both your time and money when shopping online and enhance your web search. Let me get ahead of myself and say that this is absolutely not true. And you should not keep this application installed on your computer. Now I will try to support the above made statement . All those pop-up “offers” are really annoying in the first place. Moreover, most of the time they are fake and even malicious. SunriseBrowse is totally free for users but the tool is sponsored by the third parties. It works as an advertising network that is absolutely accessible for everyone. SunriseBrowse allows everyone to use its network, regardless to their reputation and intentions. This opens the gates for various cyber criminals, developers of viruses and scammers. That being said, you should not click on the ads displayed by SunriseBrowse. First of all, there is no such a deal that you are expecting to get. Secondly, if you click on one of those ads, you will be immediately redirected to the third parties website that may be infected by cyber criminals and this may result in your computer being infected or you getting scammed. You should know that those ads may be displayed not only in the form of pop-ups, but as pop-unders, in-text, banner or interstitial ads as well. Another very interesting statement from their official webpage at www.sunrisebrowse.net – “SunriseBrowse works on any website that is not using SSL (https), which means it works on most of the website you use today”. That tells a lot about its’ reliability.
SunriseBrowse works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Mac users can calm down as this malware is only available on Windows (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8). It is listed as an adware and a PUP (potentially unwanted application), but it also has some attributes of a browser hijacker, because once installed, it will change your default home page and search engine. It will open new tabs when you browse the Internet too. Furthermore, SunriseBrowse will collect your personal information, such as browsing history, Top visited sites, IP address or search queries and transfer this information to the third parties. They adjust their ads according to the given data and make them more attractive to you this way, so the chances that you will click on them rise. As you could guess, it’s the main goal of SunriseBrowse – to make people to click on those ads because the owners make money this way. The tool generates web traffic and collects sales leads. Even though it is not a very dangerous virus that could cause a lot of damage to your PC or your personal information, it can lead to some unwanted consequences due to the mentioned third parties’ activities, therefore it needs to be removed right away. There are several ways to do that and it is not very difficult, you will be able to figure it out if you follow our instructions given at the end of this article.
This unwanted application can be downloaded from its official website, but usually this is not the case, because users are smart enough not to download this fishy looking piece of software. It comes bundled with other software that can be downloaded from the Internet for free. That means a lot of users are not even aware that this type of software is operating on their web browser. If you want to avoid installing SunriseBrowse and other similar malware bundled to your needed software, you should pay attention to the installation wizards of freebies. Don’t skip any steps – read everything from the first to the last letter. If possible, opt out for a custom or advanced install mode. Read all terms and conditions as well. Look for additional software that will be installed alongside – if you are not aware of it, don’t allow it to be added. This will allow you to take control over the installation and you will not have to regret afterwards. In case it is too late for this advise and your computer is already infected with SunriseBrowse, you should wait no more and get rid of it as soon as possible. To do that, we recommend scanning your PC with a trustworthy anti-malware, such as Spyhunter or malwarebytes. Just run the scan and all the viruses will be removed automatically.
