Supreme Adblocker - How to remove

Ads online are an annoying and unfortunate reality that most people accept, but some install browser modules designed to stop ads from displaying to the user. Ironically, the one called Supreme Adblocker is actually malware that shows very intrusive and aggressive advertisements. It’s a browser extension or a family of browser extensions. The developers of this application bet on the demand for ad-blockers and disguised their ad-pushing extension as that. The users of Supreme Adblocker are thus bound to quickly notice the problem of excessive ads on their screen, but since Supreme Adblocker uses some shady distribution and installation tactics, not everyone will be able to identify the cause right away.

Supreme Adblocker is certainly not the only adware infection that promises to block ads. There is PineApple, Facebook AdBlock, and the more recent Ad Guardian. They shoud not e dismissed easily: adware like Supreme Adblocker can strain the hardware resources and make your computer lag, as well as acquaint you with scams that cost victims hundreds of dollars. But it all starts with a neat-looking installation page that presents Supreme Adblocker as a simple and practical add-on to your browser:

How many times do you have to close a pop- up before it stops bothering you? Doing it over and over again is definitely annoying. In order to avoid this from happening again, you can download Supreme AdBlocker. Using this software, you wont even have to close one ad at all.

Harm of Supreme Adblocker

Browser hijackers like Supreme Adblocker are good at a few things:

  1. Infecting computers
  2. Pushing ads
  3. Collecting user data

Unfortunately, little developer effort is left for creating any useful functions and practical features. Otherwise, the adware part would not be unjustified. Look at Google, Facebook, etc. — they collect a lot of data about you, but they don’t use it to scam you. Hwever, Supreme Adblocker’s behavior can’t be justified?

There are good reasons to be concerned about malicious browser add-ons. Many have slipped through the review process to Google’s Web Store, which means that they’re easily available for downloading. This developer took a look at a few fake ad-blockers and found a lot of problems: some extensions were not just spying, but also changing your browser’s behavior. If installed, they could control what websites you visit, what ads you see, read what you type, even change functionality without alerting you.

Ads by Supreme Adblocker are exceptionally aggressive, appearing on top of content, distracting you, and making browsing very frustrating. There are enough distractions online as it is, and Supreme Adblocker adds to that. Not only are the ads by Supreme Adblocker annoying, but they’re also unsafe: some promote malware and scams. Some of the promoted products are unwanted optimizers which are well-known for scaring people into buying their licensed versions. Then there are fake antivirus tools, get-rich-quick scams, and other potentially-dangerous links.

Intrusive, privacy-breaching data collection might also be an issue for some people. Even the mildest deceptors programs do it. It’s trivial for most browser add-ons to check what sites you go to. Supreme Adblocker might use that data to personalize the ads, other extensions might sell it.Supreme Adblocker website

How to stop ads by Supreme Adblocker

Thankfully, browser addons are usually very simple to remove. For example, if you use Chrome, right-click on the extension’s icon next to the omnibox and choose to remove it. Browser add-ons are created to be removable modules. So, we put the removal instructions for each of the most popular browsers at the bottom, below this article.

Another thing besides removing Supreme Adblocker (and all the other suspicious extensions — review what you have installed) is to see that no malicious websites are allowed to spam you with notifications. That’s because some adware sites get this permission from people dishonestly and then send them ads as notifications. This article talks about how to stop them.

Finally, you might benefit from scanning your computer with an anti-malware tool, like Spyhunter (for PC), or Combo-Cleaner (for Mac). Tools which scan for PUPs (potentially unwnated programs) can warn you about applications that have a poor reputation or can put your computer at risk. If you’re one of the people who got Supreme Adblocker installed without wanting it, take note of which site you downloaded the offending programs from and be conscious of their behavior in the future.

How to avoid adware infections

It’s not always possible to completely avoid malware. Sure, most of it, including Supreme Adblocker, is mild and can be uninstalled easily with a strong anti-malware application. But it’s better to recognize it and avoid it before it starts causing trouble.

First of all, don’t install bundles if you can help it. Adware and other malware is bundled with free programs all the time, with the incentive of pay-per-install. Luckily, most normal developers don’t bundle their applications with dangerous malware. But some freeware distributors don’t care about being ethical and create their own “helpful” installers which make the bundling process easy. That’s how people end up with hijackers such as Supreme Adblocker without ever installing them intentionally.

Fake extensions can look legitimate, even with the exact same title if they Replace some symbols with similar-looking ones. Replacing symbols is also a technique used by URL spoofers who create fake websites (whether it’s to spread malware or steal login data).

When installing a new extension, be very suspicious. Read its description and check the links, such as ToS and the developer’s website. Reading the description might not be enough — Supreme Adblocker and some other dishonest extensions hint at their real activities in their privacy policies. Additionally, look for the name of the add-on’s creator. Being unable to find it is in itself suspicious.
