VideoPlus - How to remove

VideoPlus spams flood users with tons of annoying pop-up ads and disturb their web browsing that way. The tool is listed as an adware and a PUP (potentially unwanted program). If you noticed it on your computer, you should not keep it. It works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. By description, this application should allow you to watch and download various videos fast and easily, but the reality is a bit different. Instead of these attributes, you will get tons of annoying popups. It is not recommended to click on those ads as they will lead you to the third parties websites that may be infected and cause harm to your computer. If that’s not enough to convince you into getting rid of this useless application, VideoPlus will also collect your personal information, such as browsing history, IP address, search queries or top visited sites and transfer it to the third parties. They will adjust their ads according to it and make them more relevant to your browsing habits that way, so the chance that you will click on one of the promotions rise. Even  though VideoPlus is not a dangerous virus itself, it can lead you to some very serious cyber security problems, therefore it needs to be uninstalled.

It is distributed bundled with other free software that can be found on the Internet. When you download something and install on your computer, VideoPlus can be installed without you even being aware of it. That being said, if you want to avoid this happening, you need to be extra cautious when activating software downloaded from a suspicious looking website. Do not skip any steps and make sure you opt out for a custom or advanced install mode. Read all terms and conditions as well. This will ensure you are aware of what you are installing. How to delete VideoPlus

Using Control Panel to remove the main VideoPlus components and installers

1. Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
2. Look for VideoPlus and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related. Scanning with Anti-Malware programs like Spyhunter or Stopzilla might give a good idea of what programs you should remove from there as well.
3. Close Control Panel.

Removing VideoPlus from Internet Explorer

1. Press on the Wench icon->Manage Add-ons.
2. Go through Toolbars and extensions. Remove everything related to VideoPlus and items you do not know that are made not by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Oracle or Adobe.
3. Close the Options.

Removing VideoPlus from Firefox

1. Enter about:addons in URL field.
2. Go through Extensions and Addons list, remove everything VideoPlus related and items you do not recognise. If you do not know the extension and it is not made by Mozilla, Google, Microsoft, Oracle or Adobe probably you do not need it.
3. Optionally, reset Firefox: go to Firefox ->Help (Help in menu for OSX users) -> Troubleshooting Information. Then Reset Firefox.

Removing VideoPlus from Chrome

1. Enter chrome://extensions in url field.
2. Go through extensions list and remove programs you do not need, especially similar to VideoPlus. If unsure, you can disable them temporarily.
3. Restart Chrome.

Optionally, you can enter chrome://settings in URL bar, press Advanced settings, scroll to the bottom of the list and press Reset browser settings.
