WinSpyControl is a rogue anti-spyware program. It can be installed on your system either through trojans or manually. After the installation, it starts generating exaggerated reports about the infections of the system. It then asks you to purchase the full version of the software, claiming that it will remove all the threats you’re dealing with here. Don’t get excited, it’s fake and it may even install more pesky sofware, such as keyloggers, to your system.
The winspycontrol.com website seems to be registered in Slovenia, although their server is supposedly located in United Kingdom (87.117.252.11). The website has been registered on August 21, 2007, so it obviously took less than 5 months for those guys to create “THE BIGGEST LEADER AMONG ALL ANTIVIRUS SOLUTIONS” as their homepage states. Great job, shmucks.
WinSpyControl is obviously a scam and the designers of it did not even bother to change the website, which looks exactly as the number of other rogue software homepages do. So do not download or buy it, and block winspycontrol.com in your HOSTS file immediately.
