About WordProser
WordProser works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and even Safari. Even though it’s described as a useful tool that will help users to browse the Internet and search for information faster and easier, this description has nothing to do with reality. Once installed this malicious application will display various advertisements on all of your web browsers.
Usually those advertisements displayed by WordProser come up with a new tab on your web browser. They appear completely randomly, from time to time. Two tabs are opened at the same time – one in the information about the application and the other with the advertisement.
We don’t recommend clicking on any of those advertisements displayed by WordProser because if you do so, you will be immediately redirected to other websites that may be owned by cyber criminals, such as hackers or scammers. This way your computer can get infected or if you attempt to purchase something there, you can even get scammed and lose your hard earned money.
The application is like an advertising network for cyber criminals. Since they are banned from all legitimate advertising networks, they use adware like this to drive some traffic to their websites. So if you have this application installed on your computer, cyber criminals can reach you right on your web browser on a daily basis and that’s really dangerous.
Another unwanted attribute of this application is data collection. Once installed it will collect various information about your browsing habits, such as your browsing history, most visited sites, search queries or even your IP and email address. The third parties adjust those advertisements according to the collected data and make them even more relevant and interesting to you based on your browsing habits, so chances that you will click on one of them rise this way. And that’s the main goal of WordProser – its owners get paid for every click you make.
Distribution Methods of WordProser
Usually this application comes along with Taplika.com virus. However, it can also travel bundled with other free applications that can be downloaded from the Internet. There are couple of most important tips how to avoid this malware.
First of all, you should protect your computer with a reliable anti-malware application. Software like SpyHunter or Malwarebytes will prevent you from installing malicious programs. If for some reasons you don’t want to install one of mentioned programs, you should be really careful during the installation of free tools downloaded from websites with a questionable reputation.
Never skip any steps and always opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible. This will allow you to see all available options and make changes. Look for various check boxes that can be already marked for you. Don’t rush, because some of the most important information can be displayed in a very tiny font and you don’t want to overlook it. Reading all terms and conditions would be considered wise as well. If you notice that some additional software is being installed alongside – do not allow this to happen because it can be WordProser or any other malware.
