XP Home Security 2012

XP Home Security 2012 is a fake antivirus application designed in order to steal money from random computer users. XP Home Security 2012 spreads to computer through Trojans in order to infect as many computers as possible without letting them know about it.

You won’t be able to see the infiltration of the program as Trojans are able to do this completely secretly. The program will appear on the screen with each system reboot. XP Home Security 2012 will imitate scanning your system for infections and then tell you to purchase a full version of a program in order to remove infections. Do not trust these offers as you will be ripped off. In order to get your money, you will be informed:

  1. How can I install and run any malware program when this virus won’t let me execute the malware program?

  2. Hey, I am not a specialist and really have no idea what I’m doing I got to where you download the explorer but didn’t want to do that without really knowing what I’m doing, the popups though have stopped I just don’t know how to get the anti-malware to work which seems to be the only real way to get rid of it…

  3. hi i have got xp home security 2012 come up on computer and it won’t let me download norton, i have tried the reg key advertised but it not working what else can i do???

  4. @Rae

    @Rae
Rae I have the same problem as you !! Got infected by that same virus a few days ago. I also cannot get ANY anti-malware to work; i keep getting messages saying “application not found” and so on! I did delete the main exe file but the puter is still acting weird and I know it’s still messing with things obviously. DId you find a way to get rid of yours? Im also no whiz at the puter and cant afford to take it to be fixed by a pro! Very frustrating! btw how do you get to the screen where you delete registry keys?? I have no clue and am afraid I’d delete important stuff that is not part of the virus and needed for the puter to run right, ugh

  5. The key didn’t work for me either, and neither could I change the system date or go to any website; none of the desktop shortcuts for my anti-virus software did anything. This virus shut me down completely except I found a trick. I was able to right click on my start button and an option to run some of my anti-virus programs came up. I ran these and tried the same trick on my Malware desktop shortcut and it worked! Right click on the desktop shortcut and select “scan using”. I was able to update as well as run a full system scan. Malware seems to have got rid of it but I’m running the rest of my virus programs now.

  6. None of this worked for me. Try right clicking on your desktop shortcut for your anti-virus software and select “scan using”. I was only able to run my software this way and got rid of the virus. Right clicking on the start button also allowed me to run a few of my anti-virus.

  7. Jay : Try using process explorer. Rename it to .com and stop 3-letter process names from %Application Data% or %TEMP%. then search for files and delete or scan with anti-malware program

  8. Putting in the reg key worked for me and the little thing on the bottom of the screen went away so I was finally free but then literally a few mins ago it came back… So no good I’m gonna try it again.

  9. It didn’t work… Idk what to do now.. I’m not sure how to do the exxplorer thing to stop certain things.

  10. my daughter got it yesterday right after going to frost wire- I can’t access anything!! I’ve tried the right click and “scan using” she has AVG, Malware bytes already on there, I downloaded super antispyware (as it worked on the trojan on my work computer) on to my sony micro drive. When I put it in her computer it says I have no permision- on anything I do. She is the only user so there is no administrator for permissions– I don’t know how to access the files to delete and I’m not comfortable doing so, I also don’t have any type of rebootdisk as she bought this from rent a center. help.

  11. do i need to buy the spyware doctor or other malware removing softwares or can i download them for free

  12. aks: Some are free, some show infection locations for free. None protect from such infections for free best to my knowledge.

  13. I went to YouTube and reset my computer to before I got. The virus so I would reccomend that if these steps don’t work 🙂

  14. Just install new fresh copy of the windows,it is only way to free away your PC from this crap.Antivirus programs are useless, because they don`t recognize this shit.Dont waste your time and nervs with useless trying..Do that immidiatelly, and you are free for half of hour..I have this crap four times, and with expirience in the battle against different kind of viruses-I recommand to reinstall windows in order to complettely clean PC from any tails, rests of this violent shit..

  15. ivan3012
Get a better antivirus. 4 times infected = poor care for ones PC + visiting bad sites or downloading infected stuff.
Sure, reinstallation is ok as long as one gets decent firewall + antivirus that won’t allow such viruses in first place.

  16. Scott’s tip worked for me. I right clicked my McAfee icon on the base. It allowed it to work. What I don’t know is why McAfee didn’t prevent the virus in the first place.

  17. Gary: it might be that you got infected prior an update that allows removing the malware OR the malware was packed with packer unknown to Mcafee, OR the installer is still present, but the XP Home Security 2012 is removed.

  18. I had this virus and bought norton and it cleared up everything… i did not do the xp Home Security 2012 purchase like they wanted but should i be concerned about my credit/debit cards or idenity?

  19. Brian: I would not. However, check your credit card statements monthly – this is good practice anyways. If you see strange charges, contact your bank. In case of credit card, they will return the funds (usually) and change the card.

  20. I have gotten this virus for the third time and I have always had Malware and Zone alarm running but it got in anyway. I had to reinstall Malware from a travel drive and ran it 3 times but I still have the virus. Deleted suspicious registry keys, tried to do system restore, cannot access the internet at all. Does anyone know of a better anti virus than Malware because that is not working on this shit..

  21. Ginny: Try other removers (from usb drive) : Spyware Doctor, Emsisoft anti-malware , Hitman Pro. Make sure ytou have proxy server disabled, also kill all processes from 3 letters in name.

  22. ive got this bug. used the reg key so i could get on internet, no downloaded spyware doctor. do i run a full scan on my laptop?

  23. wow I see this is a persistent nasty virus. I still have it too (a month now!!) it just re-activated its payload or something??? because it came back full force tonight and this time I wasnt immediately able to kill the process. Everytime i hit ALT CNTRL DEL, the task manager would only come up for .2 sec, not enough time to get my other hand back to the mouse, click on the application, then right click it to “go to process” and then end process! I finally had my son hold the del key down for me so i could have my mouse hand free and at the ready. I was finally able to kill it but the virus is still in there. I’ve tried so many things and nothing works. My computer has been 90% crippled since I first got it a month ago! Im very frustrated and now I’m even more discouraged to read these comments at how many other people have it and cant get rid of it either.

  24. I’ve come really close to getting rid of the sucker but you need a registered version of spyware doctor apparently, and i don’t have enough money to buy it. Any free software out there that can get rid of it?

  25. Philip: try trial of hitman pro or malwarebytes trial. Just note, that you will not be protected from getting reinfected without full version of mbam. I would also advice getting better antivirus.

  26. Download and run Spybot – Search & Destroy. It’s free and delivers the goods.

  27. My mom’s comp got this virus. Before I reinstall window I want to save some of the images that I haven’t backed up yet. My question is will this virus/malwares be in those image files. I’m afraid that after I reinstall window and transfer those images back to my mom’s comp I would get it again. Thanks for answer.

  28. admin :Scott: Thanks for your tip.

After many hours of trying to get rid xp home security I tried this thank got this worked.
    Thank you.
    An old UNIVAC ENG.

  29. I got this virus a day ago, and my parent’s comp. got it a couple of months ago. I have read the instructions, but everything stopped working or wouldn’t let me get into the programs to try and solve the problem. After many hours I was finally able to get on the internet by moving from a wireless connection to a landline connection (i.e. plugging my labtop up to the router by cord). I entered safe mode w/networking and got Norton 360 downloaded. Unless I’m in safe mode I cannot access much, and Norton did not find the virus either.

  30. i dont know how this xp internet security 2012 get ion my computer but i want it off asap because i cant get on the internet and i am getting really mad because it not deleted

  31. I purchased this XP Home Security three months ago and today it disappeared from my programs. I lost $99.00 and now it has shown back up and I can’t access the internet. What can I do about getting my money back and what can I do to get rid of this virus.

  32. both my computers got this lame virus now, and i am able to use spybot to “delete” xp home security, but afterwards, when i run spybot again to make sureits gone, it keeps popping back up. i am also unable to load my other malware programs (ad-aware, spyware doctor, malwarebytes). any tips here?
    – also, where should i enter these reg. keys?
-one more thing, how can i run these programs for my other computer that can only start up but wont let me open any programs?

  33. milhousevanhalen:
The problem is that Spybot does not have full definitions of this malware. Try launching other programs in safe mode with networking, rename executables prior launch or run process explorer and try to kill malware processes before launch.

  34. lets try this again! lol!

First of all, I am going to load my antispyware programs to a flashdrive (lavasoft AdAware, SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot search and destroy, and CCleaner to clear out all temp files and do a registry clean) and take them with me. Tonight I am going to see if I can get them all INSTALLED on that flashdrive so all I will have to do is plug and play.
First thing I am going to do is analyze what THEIR antispyware is telling them.
    1) reboot into safe mode
    2) go to “add and remove programs” and remove anything they are not using for programs
3)clear the registry manually of the entries listed above in this article as well as the files.
    4) use CCleaner to remove all temp files, stored passwords, and ALL temp cache possible.
    5) Run each of my programs and look carefully at what they find, Then delete as many of those files found as possible.
    6) I will then look at all the icons and make sure they are what they should be.
    7) last step….reboot to normal mode and hope and pray!

  35. And just my humble opinion….I personally trust Symantec’s Norton Internet Security as my antivirus and firewall. I have used them for the past 6 years and they have gotten much better at protecting than the rest. I would recommend you at least check them out. Pricey, yes. But the protection cant be beat.

  36. @ Tracy

Permissions: When using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you may need to tell the computer that YOU are boss of the files and programs.
    1) Right click on the program icon and “Run as Administrator”. This may work. If not, right click on icon (or file) and select “properties”.
    2) Select the “Security” tab.
    3) Under “group or user names” select the one that has your name in it.
    4) Click “Edit”.
    5) In the new window that opens, click “Add”.
    6) Another window opens. Click “Advanced…”
    7) And yet another window opens (don’t get scared…this is easy if you follow these instructions!) click “Find Now”.
    8) A drop down menu opens. Look down the “Name (RDN)” column and look for “HomeUsers” with your name at the right of it. Highlight it and click “OK”.
    9) The previous window Click “OK”
    10) Now in the Permissions for………, In the “permissions for administrator box, click “full control” under the “Allow” column.
    11) Click “Apply” and then “OK” and “OK” in the remaining dialogue box(es).
    12) DONE! YOU are now in full control of that program or file.

  37. I used your 3rd number to stop the pop ups. Then while in safe mode am now scanning with malwarebytes. I had to purchase htis program as the fre version si only good for alimited no. of days. Inexpensive and multiple lisvensing is available

  38. I did everything right and it was working just fine until the Spyware Doctor was installing and it froze everything on my computer and I’m afraid to shut it off. What do I do?!?!

  39. @Rae
hey, ive had a similar issue (when i first noticed it popping up) and what i did was his ctrl + alt + delete and brought up my task manager. Then went to the “process” tab, clicked the “Image Name” bar to alphabetize it and looked for one at the bottom that is only a 3 letter task that is running (mine started with an x) and it was all lower case, and just right click and END TASK TREE, not just the task. That will stop it long enough to get a program (antivirus or such) running for u.

  40. i think i have some kind of new variant that disables the mouse and keyboard. does anyone know anything about this?

  41. Greg: Typically, Malware does not disables USB and Keyboard (this is against their goals). The problem is with some rootkits, that infect wrong driver. Scan with Alternate OS scanners or Try running TDSS killer from safe mode.

  42. So I’m guessing if I can’t register for the Spyware Doctor I have to download another anti-virus program?

  43. thanks for the reply, but both the keyboard and mouse are disabled in safe mode, too. i tried safe mode, safe mode with networking, and safe mode with command prompt and in all cases neither the keyboard nor mouse work. the only time the keyboard works is when i boot into the windows recovery console. the only problem there is that i cannot run any anti-spyware or anti-malware apps.

i’m going to see if i can find a downloadable xp bootdisk to get me into a windows environment to run my recovery apps from my flash drive. the only other thing i can think of is to find out where the keyboard and mouse initialization are getting killed and try to repair it, but that is a bit beyond my level of computing.

  44. Sam: These codes are for fake-registering XP Home Security 2012. We do not provide codes to full versions of legitimate programs

  45. Ok, got it all fixed now. I used my original installation disk to boot into the setup menu and then repaired the XP installation. It pretty much looks like it’s installing XP all over again except you retain all your data and settings. This gave me keyboard and mouse functionality again.

After that I ran registry fix that I got from another anti-malware site to keep XP Security 2012 from killing any .EXE apps I ran. Next I ran RKill to kill the spyware app that was running. Finally, I ran Malwarebytes to clean the process. Everything is good as new again. Thanks for the help guys!

  46. Hi, so I followed all the way to Step 3, but I don’t know where the files are, well I don’t see then anyways. Is it in Local Disk, and if it is, I clicked on it, but there were no Home Security file there. Btw – I have never purchased Home Security, I was going to look for a registered one and this website popped up – thank goodness and so I was also wondering, is this for those who have registered and are trying to take it off or vice versa? If that was the problem.

Other Info – I have a Windows XP Netbook if that summons anything/

  47. My goodness! This was the worst virus I’ve ever had! Thank you so much for the codes! They at least stopped the constant interfering by the XP Home Security 2012. After that, I had to use Super AntiSpyware, and it found hundreds of viruses on my computer, some of them were trojans. Terrible stuff.

Needless to say, hours later, here I am and I just deleted 789 viruses from my computer. Now, it’s asking me to reboot. Let’s hope this works!
