xVidly is a program that is presented as a download manager. However, many users have reported that it causes some unwanted actions on the system too. Although you can download the program on its official website, usually it is downloaded to computers without user’s consent. It can be bundled to various free programs that you can get from the Internet.
Once inside, xVidly makes some changes in your system so it could easily perform on your computer. You will notice its toolbar on your Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. The program may also change your homepage and default search provider. Unfortunately xVidly cannot offer the best search services. It displays lots of sponsored websites despite what search you made. In fact it seeks to boost traffic to these websites however it is very annoying for the users who expect to browse the Internet as they used to.
Beware that such browser extension can contribute to revealing your sensitive information as they can track your browsing activities. Later this data can be transferred to the third parties. It is highly recommended to remove xVidly from your system if you haven’t installed it by yourself. If the program has managed to enter your system without your knowledge it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program. We offer full removal instructions of this browser extension below.
Go to Control Panel -> Add and Remove programs list and uninstall it from there. It is important that you remove all other programs installed with the hijacker, as some of them might redownload or reset back browser settings. Thank you for your exceptionally valuable article on how to remove Xvidly from my computer. I had been trying for a week to remove this program, as it was the only search option after it took over my system. I downloaded SpyHunter 4 to remove Xvidly for me. SpyHunter 4 has detected 541 threats and still counting including conduit search toolbar (26 infections) and Babylon search toolbar (3 infections). Thanks to your article and the availability of SpyHunter 4 I have been able to have these 541 infected files removed and or quarantined. As a bonus I did not expect, Microsoft Internet Essentials is now operating again and prompted me while SpyHunter 4 was still scanning files to remove a serious threat. Again, I cannot thank you enough, my laptop now looks, feels and sounds so much healthier. You guys are great, keep up the excellent work for those of us that cannot afford even 1 virus, let alone 541.
Update. I now have 751 threats and it is still scanning my laptop. Travelocity is a website I used and trusted. SpyHunter 4 has detected 17 threats and still counting attached to Travelocity alone. SpyHunter 4 has also detected 27 threats and still counting on the mywebsearch toolbar. I wish I could copy the scan to show others just how many threats and viruses are on their computer that they are not even aware of.
The cookie threats can be ignored in SH scan, however, you should investigate everything else.
