Zenya.com is a search engine website. It might appear unexpectedly on your screen and, in some cases, the cause of that might be a malicious browser extension. If you experience browser redirects, a hijacker is the most likely cause.

What is Zenya.com?
Zenya.com, or The.zenya.com, is a website that works as a search engine. There’s not much to it, it’s just another alternative search engine. It accepts search queries and displays relevant results. It also shows way too many ads and “featured” results that lead to sites like Zapmeta.com, Gopher.com, Topsearch.co, and others (All you need to know about search arbitrage).
Zenya.com’s privacy policy is presented by System1, just like Webcrawler.com, Info.com, Excite.com, and other iffy search sites. These sites have very similar designs – and all the same problems. They’re associated with various adware infections and unwanted browser hijackers.
Showing unusually many ads is not a crime, of course. Nor is lacking a graphical interface for features that are essential for search engines: filtering by date, language, etc.
But Zenya.com appears to be related by its traffic (as estimated by web traffic analytics sites such as Similarweb) with various search engines that are themselves related to browser hijackers – Hide My History, Search Incognito, Hide My Searches, etc.
What this means is that people who visit Zenya.com are unlikely to do it voluntarily. More likely, they have a malicious browser extension installed on their browsers that redirects their search queries or injects ads into their search results.
So, the Zenya.com website is not dangerous, but it is somewhat related to various deceptive browser add-ons. If you find yourself on Zenya.com and other unknown search sites and you’re not sure how you got there, it’s worth checking if you have a browser hijacker or an adware infection.
Is it dangerous?
Although Zenya.com shows too many advertisements, it’s not harmful. It’s just a potentially unwanted website whose appearance might be caused by other potentially unwanted apps.
At the same time, it’s hard to not see the connection between malicious add-ons that hijack people’s web traffic to monetize it and alternative search engines like Zenya.com, Info.com, and Cybersearch.xyz. So, though Zenya.com is not dangerous, there’s reason to be concerned.
Browser hijackers log users’ browsing data for the benefit of advertising. They also open affiliated links and websites in the infected browsers, forcing the users to visit unexpected sites, some of which might be unsafe.
Hijackers promote clickbait sites too often, and those clickbait sites are full of their own shady ads, some of which lead to fake ads for supplements, counterfeit electronics, and get-rich-quick scams.
How to stop Zenya.com redirects
If there is an adware virus causing Zenya.com and other sites to show up, then look at what browser extensions you have installed. Check your recently installed apps and programs. At worst, the culprit could be an even more serious infection, like Adrozek.
You can also use an anti-malware application, like Spyhunter for Windows, Combo Cleaner for macOS, and Malwarebytes. They can recognize malicious and potentially unwanted programs. If any such programs are found on your device, you might want to delete them.
Look at your browser extensions any time you notice your browser behaving strangely, such as:
- showing unusual ads and too many ads,
- opening unfamiliar websites on its own,
- changing your home page and your new tab page.
Scan your device with an anti-malware app or disable all extensions until the undesirable effects disappear.
